I can't find any reference to her ever having another surname, so maybe she's married a guy called Ludlow too Laughing

Here's Jayne's interview :

Although things are going well domestically , Jayne , the fixture list has been a bit stop-start hasn't it ?

It's true that we haven't really got any momentum going. Obviously we started later than the others sides due to the World Cup , and pre-season was extended which isn't a good thing sometimes. With the internationals and some games called off it has been a very on - and - off season so far. Hopefully over the next few weeks we can start rolling and get into a rhythm.

Has it been difficult to pick yourselves up after losing to Lyon in the Uefa Women's Cup and knowing you can't now match last season's feats?

Yes. It's a little bit difficult because obviously we want to be in the main competitions like the Uefa Cup but it's gone now for this year and all we can do is play as well as we can , hopefully winning our domestic trophies and getting the confidence up before we start again next year. While it's not an excuse , we did have a few injuries and didn't have that settled a team when we played Lyon and I think it showed. To be honest I think the girls were very frustrated afterwards. We weren't arrogrant enough to think we were going to steamroller everyone and get to the final again , but I think it did kind of wake us up a bit - it told us that we had to get back to basics and work hard as a team. We want to achieve that status again and win the biggest competition around.

Did the World Cup disrupt things for our England players a bit ?

I think it did disrupt them. They had to put a huge amount of work in before the World Cup and were a little fatigued mentally too. All the girls went out there against Lyon and tried their hardest for the club , but sometimes you just haven't got it in the tank and I think the break we had over christmas will help them.

The League Cup Final will provide a nice opportunity to kick-start things...

Hopefully! We always like to pick up trophies and domestically we're just going to go hell-for-leather and win all the domestic honours we can. Once we get a few more games under our belts now we'll be able to get back to our best. Prior to christmas we probably didn't manage that.

You're known for being a dynamic goalscoring midfielder - not unlike your men's team sponsor , Cesc Fabregas...

He's had a great first half of the seaosn , hasn't he? When I first came to the club I'd say that was my role for the first four or five years , but in the last couple of years the system's changed and we've had player's with different strengths coming in , in an attacking sense. So I've actually gone a bit more defensively -minded , in theory at least! Myself and Katie Chapman are usually the ones holding the midfield area while Kelly Smith does more of the attacking. I still get forward when I can though , provided that Vic's not too annoyed on the sidelines!

Your're the captain of Wales - is it frustrating for you that , like Ryan Giggs in the men's game , you clearly have the talent to play in a World Cup but , with all respect , may not achieve this ?

Yes , it's frustrating - as a player I want to be involved in the best competitions and competing for the biggest trophies. Unfortunately for Wales , unless things change in the future we are not really going to get to the world Cup and compete against the best teams. That said , we have stepped up to the A Group for qualifying so we are improving and will be playing against sides like Germany but because of the standard that we're up against it's going to be hard to get to the finals. It's got to be our ambition to qualify eventually - you know , our ambition for the last five or ten years has been to get into the A Group and we have achieved that so let's build on it.

Wales played a friendly against Arsenal Ladies in pre-season was that useful excercise ?

In all honestly it wasn't very enjoyable , we lost 6-0 and many of our senior team weren't able to play. All of the girls work full-time and it's hard to get time off for friendlies -it's quite different to the situation the England girls have. So quite a few of the under - 19 girls turned out for us and it will have done them good in some ways - it opened their eyes to the level they need to aim for. It was a strong Arsenal side as it was just before the World Cup and everyone was at peak fitness really going for it. We've got a welsh girl in the academy here at Arsenal and a couple have just gone over to America , so some of the youngsters are getting the right kind of education and that can only stand them in good stead.

Finally Jayne , what's your day-to-day role at the club ?

I work with the academy girls day in , day out , which I really enjoy. I'm their full-time physio and these days also do some coaching. It's a great place to be and I find it really rewarding.
