Too easy for the USA women. They could play at half speed and probably win this tournament.

I' m going for a USA win.

For all of us hoping and looking forward to watching it on Eurosport it's not on at all. I've seen the tv guide for it and the first three days there's no coverage , not even highlights Evil or Very Mad I've well and truly got the flipping hump , not happy Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

HLF : England weren't invited this time , and Hope Powell wasn't happy with that decision.

HLF : That would be best , if I hear there showing any matches I'll put it up.

Twm: I have no idea who picks the team , probably someone anti-English as they've only been invited once Rolling Eyes

Mitts, Markgraf, Wagner are all still out with their injuries.
Kai is sick.
Ellerston and Lilly are out due to pregnancy.
Jobson retired.

The only matches that will be televised are the ones vs. China, you can get them through the internet some how. US soccer won't be doing matchtracker during the game because its in the middle of the night here, so we'll have to wait for them to post the video hightlights of the game on their site, which sometimes takes forever.

I like the US's chances, but at the same time they have a lot of new people, and they will be doing a lot of experimenting. Plus I think Canada, China, and Finland are all teams that hover in the realm of being capable of pulling off an upset. We'll see, or read, whatever...

It was apparently broadcast on some Chinese station through the internet, which I wasn't aware of. Apparently they had trouble with touches during the first half, but got it together during the second half and looked really good, and played very entertaining soccer, which I am thrilled about.

Pia also played a very interesting lineup, a 4-4-2, using O'Reily as a right mid, and Wambach and A-Rod up front which paid major dividends. O'Reily's/HAO has so many positive attributes, but she just doesn't have international pace, and maybe Pia realized that, so maybe look for that in the future since she had 3 assists in one game. She also let Tarpley do her thing, started Chalupny,Boxx, and Lloyd, and had some fast and young players on defense, leaving off Whitehill and not starting Lopez/Cox. Overall it was a very offensive lineup, which is exciting.

Also I don't know if you caught this but Saurbraun (sp?) who also may have had her first cap on def, plays pro at Frankfurt where basically the majority of the German National Team plays, is Pia being a bit clever???

And of course Hope was back, which I did not find shocking, and she handled the crosses (trademark) and the "quick reaction type saves" covering the ball up afterwards with seeming ease.

Let's hope they keep up the momentum.
