I would like to see the Champions League revert back to when it was called the European Cup, a competition just for all the top League winners , then perhaps the UEFA Cup would have more stature.

Yes i am , but to me the 5th Cup, isn't quite the same as the first 4 Cups (hard to explain really)

No, it'd be a worse competition if it were just Champions playing.

Just change the name to 'The European League' and keep it as it is.

I'm not just saying that because I want my Club in it every year - even if Arsenal won the Premiership for ten years running, I'd rather see the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd competing in it as it's the best competition on the planet with all the top dogs in Europe battling it out.

For once I agree with spyballs... I've mentioned this in a thread before somewhere too.

Champions only would ruin the tournament and make it less desirable. It would lose appeal and alot of the money will fall out of it and teams won't want to be a part of it. I think the way it is at the minute is good but still too many flaws. There is too much favourtism towards the bigger clubs.

I thought what Blatter proposed before about the top 3 going through then the national cup winner gaining the 4th place was a good idea. It gives chasing teams such as Spurs, Everton & the rest an opportunity to represent their country on Europe's main stage. It would also restore some prestige to the FA Cup and teams could make it a priority (as long as their are safe in the league of course) and put all their effort into winning it

I am a Manchester United fan but i like to see Champions League in this way.
Because sometimes I am sorry for the situation of Liverpool.
It is pity to Liverpool they can't be a champion at least let us see them playing in Champions League.

Man U won in 1999 but they were not league champions of that year , so do you think that win was as good a feeling as in 1968 when you were league champions ,and European Champions ??????

There is a reality that we won the Champions League and Manchester United is obviously much better than Liverpool.In this respect, A Champions League which is in that way or only league champions way not makes big sense
Because as Red Devils,we will always join to Champions League.I said it for you.You can't win the title in the league at least let us see you in Champions League

So this means if just champions of every league joined to Champions League,Liverpool wouldn't join to Champions League since 1990

but if you go by what you are saying it appears Liverpool must be a better team than Man U, because both teams have played in the European Cup/Champions League about the same amount of times, but Liverpool have made 7 Finals -5 Wins, were Man U have only ever made 2 Finals - 2 Wins ??????
