Bochum have reportedly had an offer for former Feyenoord star Shinji Ono accepted.

The 28 year-old is currently on the books of J-League's Urawa Red Diamonds but club general manager Shuzo Nakamura is willing to let the Japanese international go if the offer is right.

The Bundesliga outfit took Ono on trial at the start of the month, but delayed their decision to make a bid after question marks were raised about the condition of the player's injured ankle.

Ono, who has been plagued by injuries in the last four seasons, have since appeared to have reassured his suitors he is close to full fitness.

According to the Japanese media, Urawa have accepted an undisclosed bid from Bochum for the 2002 Asian Player of the Year and both parties are currently finalising contract terms.

Ono moved to Feyenoord in 2001 from Urawa and helped the Dutch club to the UEFA Cup trophy in his first season.

However he never recovered from a string of injuries and returned to Japan in 2006.

I remember him from the World Cup way back in 2002, seemed to be a good player back then from what I can remember. Shame he never made it to a real top club

_________

Bochum presented the winther player additions number two and three. As the Bundesligist stated underwrote Ono an treaty until 2010, which count for the first and second league in Germany. The charge amount to 500.000 €.

________

Well, the players which bochum buy in the last time are all nearly always great. Stanislav Sestak, Joel Epalle, Martin Mieciel, Jaroslav Drobny and Theofanis Gekas play(ed) still good. I'm curios how good Shinji Ono will play.
