now that Spurs fans have been given a reality check ....how will the FA CUP exit affect them ....hard mayches against Everton and Man Utd again coming up ...then the Uefa Cup ties ... will the Carling Cup Final be their only highlight of the season .....bar the 5-1 thrashing of us of course .

Hardly a reality check though is it - going to Old Trafford and getting knocked out of the Cup.
Despite the defeat we didn't roll over and have our tummies tickled as we may have done previously - I can't imagine there will be many teams at our level expecting to go up there and win, realistically speaking.

We have got tough matches coming up as you say, but I'm not panicking just yet - the overall standard of our play has improved tenfold since Ramos took over.

Highlight of the season it may well prove to be, but our season has been pretty much written off since September anyway.

did you mean lucky slight win over the magpies?.. 1-0 should've been fair enough.. lol..
Spurs lost for playing away and being unlucky.. not that we won over them easily..

It's nothing compared to the glory hunting you get from from the United fans though... it's a fact that most fans from Manchester support City!! so where are the Utd Fans all from?

what kind of glory hunting exactly are Man Utd fans practising that bothers you as a gooner?..
are you trying to say that most people in london support Gunners too?.. leaving behind other teams like Spurs.. chelski.. West Ham and more..
it's a freedom to select a club to support.. although most people would probably stick to their local clubs..
and all those Man Utd supporters are actually from around the world.. maybe they would earn more when they visit other countries to do friendship games anyway..

Last five meetings they've beat us once. We've no reason to fear them. We beat them in our last meeting at Old Trafford and we outplayed them in both of the ties last season.

We've improved majorly this season and I think we have enough to go through. Personally, I relish the battle!

Success will always attract more support be you Arsenal, Man United or Doncaster Belles - you have been lucky enough to have experienced as much over the past 10 years - you think you would still have as much 'Worldwide' support had you 'done a Tottenham' over the last decade?

Precisely.

I don't think I am, you look at it there, what have we won over the last couple of seasons? nothing! We haven't won the league in 3 seasons! the last cup was the F.A Cup and that seems forever ago! We've only managed 4th place and yet we manage to fill up to 60,000 fans in our stadium.

So your point doesn't really make any sense.

Our lucky slight win of 3-0 you mean? And there you go again saying Spurs were "unlucky" to lose. Maybe now after finally ending they're jinx against Arsenal of going 1-0 up and then throwing the game away and losing, they are going to start doing it again with Man-u every season for the next 9 years? I'm pretty confident mate. We have a good record against utd in the fa cup home and away so bring it on!
We certainly won't be throwing away the game if we go 1-0 up like Spurs did (and then threw away the game!).
I still think the draws fixed anyway! I was not supprised in the slightest that we got drawn away to them, we always do!

yeah.. Spurs played better than you do lately.. and if they were in the place of magpies.. you wouldn't have had a chance to survive the next round.. they're so close to scoring more than just one by keano.. and it's the penalty who brought them down a little bit to losing..

well.. you can say whatever you want as a rival.. i've never known a gooner who says good stuffs about Spurs in a good way.. but they're going to be better with ramos.. and possibly grab a place in the top ten of the table by the end of this season..

Okay claptrap may be a bit harsh - but I'm not just talking about the last 3 seasons, thats being short-sighted. Look at the bigger picture - 10 years of success, an era of winning regardless of how silverware-less you've been the last couple of seasons.
Do you honestly think those 60,000 fans are all 'father passed down to son' support you so romantically described earlier? I wonder how many Chris Evans's and Sara Cox's are amongst them, who jumped on the band-wagon when you started winning circa '98.

I'm not arguing with you as such - but I don't think you can honestly dig at United for being glory boys with a completely clear conscience as it were.

Pot, kettle, black anybody!

You really do talk absolute cr@p! I can't remember the last time Arsenal went 1-0 up in a game and ended up losing! Poor Spurs, they were "unlucky" with the penalty, they were "unlucky" not to score more, unlucky, unlucky, unlucy.
Should read "not good Enough".
You seem to be an expert on every Premiership team? Then again, I bet you have supported more than one until you settled on Man-u eh?
Hope you confident in the 5th round fa cup draw? We have a good record against you at home so I would choose your words carefully before saying your going to thrash us! You might end up eating them!

lol.. i didn't mention anything about Gunners ever went up 1-0 and then ended up losing.. i just said that if Spurs were in the place of magpies.. from the beginning of course.. so i didn't mention anything about your losing after you scored first at all.. don't get me wrong.. please..

nah.. unlucky is slightly different from good enough.. so when keano scored first.. would you consider Man Utd being not good enough?.. maybe.. but were Spurs not good enough when tevez equalized it?.. maybe.. so which team's actually not good enough?..

well.. i'm honestly nothing close to the expert.. but yeah i watch matches.. lol.. supported for than one?.. hm.. i never think of that.. am i allowed to do so?.. i like some players from some good teams.. including Gunners.. but it doesn't mean i support them.. Man Utd was the first team i knew [it's a long history and way too sad to tell] and Man Utd is the only team i really support..

and.. i think you didn't really read my post.. there's no word saying that we would trash you.. just hopefully we win.. i already stated somewhere that i shall be very happy with slight wins.. trashing a team won't earn us more points than three.. or qualify for the next round as in this fa cup case.. so i'll take huge wins as a bonus.. i won't end up eating my words as i never post in an unfair way.. whether we win or lose.. against good or bad teams.. there's always something good or bad to point out..

Course not, they were good enough to come back and win the game. As for that penalty, you could clearly see that defender knew EXACTLY what he was doing, prentending to fall over and knocking the ball away with his hand. Or was he just "unlucky"? (to get caught!) Cool

Somebody is backtracking and making excuses allready! you have allready posted rather arrogantly that man-u will win the Fa cup/Premiership/Champions League, etc and Arsenal wouldn't stand a chance! Eating your words quicker than I thought!! Wink

lol.. it's a hand-ball indeed and we're supposed to have a pk.. but still it's the straight red card that bothered.. maybe because the ref thought he did it on purpose..

lol.. i didn't realize you would be bothered with that post.. i only stated that the premiership's ours.. while the rest like fa cup or even champions cup could just be ours or other teams.. but not Gunners.. i didn't sense any arrogance from the post.. or also greed to have all of them.. lol..

maybe it's you who're a sensitive gooner.. you know.. you came up with this thread after your huge loss.. how ironic.. isn't it?..

And I suppose that at least if Man-u doesn't win the league you can always start supporting whoever does! Cool

Complete and utter rubbish! Now I'm just sensing jealousy.

You can't compare Arsenal's fan base to be the same as Utd's!!! I'll say it again, how many Arsenal fans are there in Manchester? I would admit you might of had more arm chair fans before we were more 'successful' but I bet most of them are still from around the London area.

Even in the George Graham days we had excellent attendance at Highbury!! and it's always been hard to get tickets as far back as I can remember!!

I wonder would you be able to fill a 60,000 capacity stadium when putting out a second string team in the Carling Cup against say...Newcastle?

Not even Chelsea could fill their stadium in the CL against Rosenburg.

Hm....

I do see what you're saying to a degree, but I don't think it is as quite as clear cut as you imagine mate!

I think you underestimate your International following since the drab '1-0 to the Arsenal' days.

Sure look at the Gooners that have signed up on here in the past few weeks - all from far & away exotic pastures, and there is nothing wrong with that.
But to diss Man U just because they have a larger Surrey following than you do in Moss Side is inbalanced to say the least my dirty gooner pal!
