Lehmann is the fundamental favourite, of course. He is the actually no. 1, but Robert Enke(Hannover 96) for example is a very powerful rival. I think the chances for Timo Hildebrand are very bad, he doesn't play for Valencia and in my opinion he hasn't the needful quality.

I don't know the definite situation, Löw's statements and indications are difficult to interpret. Of course it would be best if Lehmann plays regular, but I don't know if it is absolute needful and essential.

Yeah, well he has been playing as the German no.1 during his time as an Arsenal benchwarmer this season, so it's a good sign.

But he won't be in tip-top condition without that match sharpness, form or fitness. However he is probably still the best bet for Germany because of his experience and class.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. I personally would like to see him keep his German position, but do feel that if he isn't playing Club football, he might not get his Euro 2008 position.

What are your impressions of Raphael Schäfer?

I agree to your position Very Happy

Oh, Raphael Schäfer plays only middle-rate at the moment. He played about 2 great seasons for 1. FC Nürnberg and moved directly to the german champion VfB Stuttgart, not least because the qualification for the Champions League. Quod vide Ewerthon.

Schäfer looks at penalty kicks like he simply fall down. The motivation to parry a penalty kick is nearly not identifiable. In the matches he plays not especially. Robert Enke, Tim Wiese, Manuel Neuer and Rene Adler are all better I think Wink

But for english criterions he is great, just as Ziegler. Smile

I don't understand the first part ... ?
