World Cup Money....

FIFA announced Tuesday that the winner of next year's World Cup will earn 24.5 million Swiss francs (US$18.75 million).

Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 2 million Swiss francs (US$1.5 million) per group game, assuring each a minimum of at least 6 million Swiss francs (US$4.5 million).

FIFA will also pay business class air tickets for the teams to come to the finals and will pay up to 400 Swiss francs (US$305) a day for hotel costs.

Each qualifier also gets 1 million Swiss francs (US$750,000) to cover the cost of preparations.

Nice one, will be great for some of the smaller football nations that have sent teams such as the African ones.

Lets hope that the money goes into youth and grass roots football tho, and not into the pockets of the respective hierarchies of those nations.
