Blackburn - Nils Erik Johansson - Craig Short |
|
Blackburn manager Mark hughes today released nils erik johansson and craig short.
Both were out of contract and had hoped to get a new deal but they dont figure in mark hughes plans. Short, 36, joined Rovers in July 1999 in a £1.7m move from Everton. He began his league career with Scarborough before moving on to Derby and Notts County. He made 134 league appearances for Rovers, scoring four goals. Stockholm-born Johansson, 25, was signed from German side Nuremberg in 2001 and made 86 league appearances for Rovers, 27 as a substitute. Criag short has been interesting sheff utd with neil warnock a keen admirer and Nils may fancy a return back to sweden with ifk gothenburg and elfsborg possibilities |

I think Short would have been good enough for one more season at Rovers, and i can now see Sunderland, Wigan or the other new team of the Premiership to snap him up. Johansson well he has just been a fringe player all year so it has been coming and i think he will go to some Scandinavian team or to the Championship.
