I have just passed my FA Level 1 Coaching Badge along with my First Aid & Child Protection.
I was wandering where to go next. I am very interested in becoming a Players Agent but I would like to get some experience in and around a few clubs and build up some contacts before I go into such a risky job. I'm not sure what to do next - Anyone offer any help.

I would suggest that you either volunteer for a local weekend side and build up your experience or do what I did, and start your own session, I advertised in my local paper for a fortnight to see what kind of feedback I would get. I also leafleted all the local schools in my area. I had already booked my local gym. This cost me twenty two pounds for 90 minutes. I was determined to make it work. It took 4 weeks before it started paying for it self !

As regarding being a football agent, this is actually quite a difficult field to crack. Making contacts in football is not an easy thing to do. The easiest way to even getting a sniff, is going to matches involving Junior players at professional clubs. You need to build up a portfolio of names, ages, positions, districts & counties if they are old enough. To this I must add that you are not legally alowed to approach the kids, but you can approach their parents, and they are generally easy to spot. Developing a relationship with scouts is also a useful idea !

If you are going to approoach a company about becoming a players agent, you are going to need things that give you an edge. The biggest edge you can have is information that they can use !

hope this helps.

Yes thanks very much, I appreciate your help.

Have you any contacts?
What area of the football industry are you in?
