Jayne Ludlow is captain of the national team, and is undoubtedly the best in Wales - anyone who has seen her play for Arsenal will testify to her ability.
I've only seen them play once - should have been twice, but I didn't realise they were playing near here until a few hours after the game
That was a home game in this group - the only one within easy travelling distance for me

Other players in the Wales team play for Liverpool (Cheryl Foster is a good player), Cardiff (Gwennan Harries for instance) and Bristol Academy.

I saw 3 games in the U19 group stage, which they played in North Wales (2 of them including Wales), and for the last game, the secretary of the Welsh FA was present and really friendly - he gave Ron and me (and a guy from Pontypridd) bibs so we could go and take photos pitch-side.
I can't imagine the equivalent guy in England being so helpful - no insult intended to English, but Welsh people in authority are often more interested in the general population, and therefore more helpful.

As far as the league in Wales goes - there are 8 teams in North Wales league, and a couple of the players got into the U19 squad. I'm trying to see a game local to here, but can't find out when they play - the only game I had definite arrangements to go to was postponed.
The local paper has no info

There is a league in South Wales too, and I believe Pontypridd have a good team - but don't know a lot about it.

Just back from Barry. A tight contest with few chances, Wales were disappointing and only troubled the Belgian keeper on two or three occasions mainly from free kicks from Fishlock. Belgium were the better team , very well organised . Femke Maes was the best player on the field and they had two excellent wingers, the number 11 Janice Cayman of Tienen, very pacy and great delivery, also a tiny number 16 (not sure who). Wales battled hard but nothing went their way. If anything Belgium should have won by two or three. The Dutch team were watching and hopefully Wales will play better on Wednesday. The Belgian keeper Van Poucke looked very confident...It was unusual to see the Belgian players who play in Holland greeting their Dutch club mates at the end of the game. Kath Morgan was awarded a gold cap for being the first welsh woman to play 50 times for Wales.

Was there a decent attendance?

275 was the number given on the report on FG I guess was a Welsh FA report. It was certainly less than the crowd for the games in the under 19 tourney but I think that might be paying spectators as there were nearer 400 people there IMO. Unlike England games not that many groups of kids from clubs therefore no chanting and singing.

It's a shame if it was even as low as 400 - I believe the official attendance when we played Switzerland at Rhyl was 781.

Three out of four qualifiers played in South Wales might not be the best idea - footy is more popular than rugby in North Wales, but the other way around in the south, and might show in these attendances.

I know there are two men's league clubs in the south - and only one in the north (maybe none next year ), but we have seven men's Prem clubs within 100 miles from where I live - so people support them - even if they are in England.
