My Uni is hosting an intramural football tournament they dubbed the "world cup" (for cultural awareness and such...) I am the captain/coach of Wales and the rules state that we need at least 2 girls on the pitch at all times. Now the girls on my team are not the greatest athletes in the world so where would be the best place to stick them where they won't be a bother and just have the 8 other guys do the work?

To be honest they should be treated the same way as a man who has no physical strentgh/pace and place them on the pitch where you think that man would should be. It should not be a gender problem but more of an athleticism one.
In my opinion anyone whatever their skill level can be used on a pitch to do a job, whatever their abilities is.
I have seen loads of team play their weakest player at left back when they have no left footed player or on a wing as they will simply bypass that area of play. Another option is using their capacity of nuisance in the middle of the pitch and tell them to run after the ball.

Yeah, it's not gender thing at all, but our guys are just all athletic while the 2 girls we have can't so much as walk up a flight of stairs. Only got them because they were the only ones who'd agree to do it for a free jersey. Laughing

Yeah, I was thinking of putting them on either wing and just letting play run down the middle. I'm still banking on getting one of the ladies varsity girls signed up though so at least we only have to worry about one.

A player who is slower than anyone else and with limited skills can be used for fouling opposItion best players and get sent off, you get rid of 2 players for the price of one Wink Trick commonly used in ice hockey.

Laughing I wish, but rules say that we need to have at least 2 girls on the pitch at all times, so of one is sent off, we have to get rid of one of the guys as well and put in another girl Sad

Laughing It's probably been done many times before. I'm thinking of putting them in midfield as well since our defenders are very good players who can go up anyway, and we can't afford having one of the lesser players fouling strikers in the box.

In that case central midfiled when they can annoy the opposition is all right.

So I should just tell them that when the other team has the ball, just go for the ball and try and kick it away from the opposition?

do these girls want to play football? have they chosen to play in this tournament? or have they been just been picked against their will?
