Motherwell Vs Inverness |
|
Trying to find a stream for this one tomorrow night but no joy as of yet.
Motherwell to be run a little close by battling Inverness but still to come through and win 2-1 in my opinion.

Good luck with that mate. Think Motherwell should pick up the 3points here. I'll go with a 3-0 home win as they try to distance themselves with the 3rd spot chasers |

I know, It's bloody difficult, i don't know why its not on Setanta. Think I'll get a stream for the Celtic-Barca game if all else fails. Will keep a close eye on this one though as Motherwell look to assert themselves in third place in the first of their three games in hand over Dundee United.

Oh dear. Inside the first seven minutes Motherwell excersise thier superiority by going 2-0 up first through David Clarkson and then just two minutes later through Chris Porter, who now has five goals in six.
All set for a loooooong night for Caley....... |

All over at Fir Park, 3-1 to Motherwell as they pull further away from Dundee United in the race for third place.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A first-half brace from David Clarkson helped Motherwell to victory over a battling Inverness side at Fir Park. Clarkson opened the scoring from Ross McCormack's pass with a powerful shot before Chris Porter's header doubled the Steelmen's lead. Don Cowie puled one back for Inverness with a sublime drive before Clarkson volleyed Well two goals clear again. Both sides struck the woodwork as the game swung from end to end, but neither team could add to the scoring. Motherwell had the best of the early exchanges but, despite forcing a series of corners, they failed to fashion a clear-cut chance. The home side's pressure finally counted when McCormack angled the ball into the box for Clarkson to hammer the ball into the back of the net from close range. Cross balls were causing the Inverness defence all sorts of problems, and Stevie Hammell crossed for Porter to head his 13th goal of the season. Motherwell were dominant and Clarkson again went close as he drove the ball in from a tight angle on the right hand side of the box, but the ball flew wide of the post. The visitors could not be faulted for effort, and Cowie tried his luck from outside the box, but his shot was well wide. The midfielder went one better moments later with a magnificent left-footed long-range drive which flew into the net and brought Inverness back into the match. Fraser pulled off a fantastic save from the impressive McCormack as the Motherwell striker tried to side-foot the ball into the net from 16 yards as the game swung from end to end. Motherwell were almost handed a goal when McGuire and Fraser got themselves in a fankle inside the box, but no home striker was on hand to take advantage. The home side were not to be denied however, and Clarkson volleyed the ball into the roof of the net from McGuire's poor clearance for his second goal of the game. The visitors almost pulled one back immediately as Imrie went in one-on-one with Smith, but the Well keeper pulled off a fantastic save and Dennis Wyness was unable to connect with the rebound. The second-half started in the same vein as the first with Porter hitting the bar with a fierce drive after bursting past McGuire. The visitors replied in kind when Ross Tokely hit the junction of post and bar from a Cowie corner with Smith in no-mans land. The ball was seemingly magnetically attracted to the woodwork as Grant Munro struck the bar with a header from another Inverness corner as the visitors began to press. As in the first-half the frenetic pace took its toll and the chances dried up as both defences took control. Cowie managed a header at goal as he broke free of the Well defence, but his effort was well over. The visitors had a strong penalty shout turned down when Russell Duncan went down in the box but the claims were waved away. Porter had the chance to seal the points for Well late on, but his header from Hammell's cross flashed past the post. |
