It's a joke that so many average nations are ahead of Ivory Coast. They're a top team, and i personally would rank them in or around the top 10.

True, especially when you see the likes of Guinea ahead of them...

Australia beat Brazil in a Confederations Cup once? so what? we won this meaningless competition twice against 0 from you guys, including a 6-0 in the final in 97 against...Australia! you guys played two World Cups in all history and only reached the second phase once, we won 5 times and beat you in the last time. Sorry I cant be bothered to discuss with australians, the difference is so huge that it lacks excitement

Not many but youre right, you guys used to create us loads of problems in the old days. You lost some firepower, but I still fear playing in Montevideo

You guys are too cocky you think "We're Brazil we just have to turn up and be expected to win". Not true. Just you wait we'll show you Very Happy Brazil are a faltering team at the moment. Ronaldinho is out of form and doesn't perform for club or country, your strikers rarely score, you only managed to beat Ireland a team weaker then Australia 1-0. You can say "oh its only a friendly" but Brazil should be performing better than this.

Look i'm not arguing with you to fire you up or anything i'm just saying Australia is going to be a great footballing nation come 2010. I think We should be aiming for Quater-Finals at least!!. Nathan Burns, Bruce Djite, Matthew Spiranovic, Danny Vukovic, Adrian Leijer etc. These are all Under 23's playing in Australia (except Spiranovic and Leijer who play with Nurnberg and Fulham respectively) who are all wanted by big European clubs. The quality is there, just wait and see. Brazil's stars aren't going to burst onto the scene anytime soon except for maybe Alexandre Pato who is already making an impact at AC Milan.

They do have Diego and Robinho though, who have recently made an impact on the footballing world in a big way. But yeah, they are too cocky.

Oh and Gonzago, what about Forlan?

Robinho and Diego are good players but they're not exactly setting the International scence alight are they? I'm talking about club AND country like these young Aussies. Not just for club. or just for country.

oh yes I've been listening that and waiting Australia to "be a great footballing nation" since I was born. And dont think you know our young players, there isnt only Pato, Diego or Robinho, these are just the most famous ones. We got plenty of exciting promises in our league but I wasnt expecting you to know them.

But, again, I wont discuss with you cause it lacks excitment. bring me a italian, german or argentinian instead

I know these other young stars I watch Brazilian football alot but have you seen that they are not being picked up by European clubs? You yourself are exactly what I said about Brazilians. Your cocky, you expect to win no matter who you play. Also you say talking with me lacks excitement but you keep replying with the same arguement, not even bringing up better points, now that really lacks excitement...

I dont doubt you follow results and watch some highlights, but I'm sure you dont watch our football as much as I do and know the biggests young stars. And how can you say they arent being picked by european clubs? Only last season, from what i can remember now, were sold Pato to Milan, Breno to FC Bayern, Lima to Betis, Diego to Almeria, Lucas to Liverpool, Carlos Alberto to Bremen, William to Shakhtar, Marcelo to Real Madrid, Jonatas to Espanyol...all quality players, and this without mention the unknown teenagers that we only hear about when they're already shining in europe, like Arsenals Denílson and Eduardo.

And im not cocky. I do expect us to beat anyone and everyone but only because our team can beat anyone and everyone. of course sometimes we end disapointed like in 2006, but we will always enter any and every competition to win, not "reach the quarter-finals". When we demand our team to win everything we arent being cocky, we just know our potential and expect to fullfill it

Nah I watch the games on my phone or on computers and stuff at school and if I miss games I always catch up through highlights. I'm an avid Sao Paulo fan, have been for about 2 years now. But before that I reguarly watched as a neutral. To be fair in comparison to Brazil, Australia do have a few less young players going over to Europe but I guess it isn't as widely publicised because Brazilians are everywhere Laughing

Australia are a footballing nation. I never said they were a big nation but there was potential for us to become a big nation, we have the players, we are starting to get the coaches (Hiddink, Verbeek). Quarter finals is a minimum for Australia in 2010. 2014 and 2018 I expect a final or maybe even a win. Well not really 2014 cause that'll be Brazil's considering its on home turf.

You expect a World Cup win?

Are you actually serious?

I think you massively over estimate the strength of your country's national team. Laughably so.
