Just seen Toni bag his 4th of the game there against Aris. I think they are the team to beat. All the CL drop-outs will have a hard time against them.

Hope they get Rangers

Aris' keeper Chalkias was embarrassing tonight. He was responsible for Bayern's first 4 goals.

It finished 6-0.

Bayern's main competition, imo, are Villareal, Atletico, the other German teams (Hamburg and Bremen, mainly) and possibly Everton. Tottenham and Fiorentina might also have a chance and Bordeaux have managed 4 out of 4 in their group, so maybe they deserve a mention.

As for my team, Panathinaikos, i'd like to hope we can progress further, but last season's experience after our initial group success has taught me to lower my expectations (while still hoping for the best).

From the CL, Rangers, Benfica, Rosenborg & Slavia Prague don't stand a chance. Marseille & Bremen could be dark horses. Don't see PSV or Sporting Lisbon posing much of a threat either

Apparently theres a lot of problems behind the scenes at Bayern but they keep producing on the field and it doesnt seem to be effecting their performances. Villarreal & Atletico will be their main rivals I think, Everton & Spurs might make the semis but I cant really see them win it, same with Fiorentina.

Don't you think Werder and Hamburg can (possibly) beat them? I'm not saying they would be favourites in such an encounter, but both teams know Bayern well and imo are a huge threat to their UEFA Cup challenge.

When teams from the same country face each other in Europe you can never be sure of the outcome, no matter what their positions in their domestic league are.

For all the draws and ugly games in the Bundesliga they're going well in the UEFA Cup.

Luca Toni has impressed me everytime I've seen him play. With Fiorentina, Italy and now Bayern. Surprised Man Utd didn't opt for him when Ruud went.

Actually yeah I think they could both give Bayern a good game but Bremen havent really been consistent this season and dont look as solid as last year. Hamburg - rely a lot on Van Der Vaart who is supposedly off to Juve soon so unless they replace him I can see them struggling

Kahn
Lell, Lucio, Demichellis, Lahm
Schweinsteiger, Van Bommel, Ze Roberto, Wiberwe
Klose, Toni

Podolski, Sagnol, Ottl, Van Buyten on the bench.

Yeah, thats a good team.

Both good points.

Werder was horrible against Olympiakos. I watched both games so i know what i'm talking about. But they're still doing well in Germany.

And i suspect Hamburg will have a hard time without VDV, as you said. I guess i forgot about the possibility of him leaving in January.

Half time 2-0 for Bayern, Aberdeen have to score more than 2 goals.

Unlucky Aberdeen, well battled in the first leg. They have been leaking goals all over the place of late in the SPL.

Atletico may be on their way out though. Bolton do have the 1-0 aggregate lead.
Villarreal may also be on their way out. Currently down 2-0 on aggregate.

Nice score! There were phenomenal matches: this one and Levercusen-Galatasaray, where the score is the same. The most interesting things are, that first goals in both games were scored at 12(!) minute, that the lost teams scored on eightieth minutes (87 & 83) and that in both matches were doubles (Podolski and Barbares)!
