Good score for Bilbao away from home.

Why do Athletic only bye Basque players?

Will they ever by players out Basque?

They only have Basque players because is their tradition, only Basque players have played during all their history.

Well they had Lizarazy (who's french) and Luis Fernandez as a coach, who's also french.
They also have some players from Navarra and La Rioja, two different regions which are not Basques.

Surely in order for them to move forward they are gonna have to invest in players outside basque?

They dont want to though, they want to stick with their traditions and only use local players, theyve never had a shirt sponsor either.

Theyve never been relegated in the clubs history but its getting tougher every year to stay in the league. The fans would rather get relegated than get rid of the policy though apparently.

I watched the first half an hour, cant believe Atletico lost in the end, they were all over Bilbao & cold have been further ahead

Only 3 teams in Spain have never been relegated: Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao
