Nac Breda-AJAX |

Ajax ended a good week on a high by coming from behind to record a vital 3-2 win at NAC Breda on Sunday.
The Amsterdammers announced on Friday that Marco van Basten would be their new coach after Euro 2008, the Holland boss having signed a four-year deal at the ArenA. Adrie Koster, who has been in charge since Henk ten Cate quit the post in October to become part of Avram Grant's backroom staff at Chelsea, will remain in control for the remainder of the current campaign, though, and he must have been encouraged by the start his men made in Breda. They took the lead in the 21st minute through the prolific Klaas-Jan Huntelaar but headers from Matthew Amoah and Rob Penders after half-time turned the match in NAC's favour. Ajax rallied and, after Urby Emanuelson equalised, grabbed a late winner through central defender Johnny Heitinga. The teams started the day level on points in the race for a Champions League qualifying spot. And it was the visitors who struck first, Edgar Davids crossing from the left for Huntelaar to steal between his markers and head home. Davids ought to have made it 2-0 but headed tamely at home keeper Jelle Ten Rouwelaar from six yards. NAC, no doubt with the words of coach Ernie Brandts ringing in their ears, came out in determined mood after the break and were level within five minutes of the restart. Csaba Feher whipped in a free-kick from the left and Amoah ghosted in at the far post to head into the net. Feher was also the creator eight minutes later when his free-kick from the right was nodded in from close range by home skipper Rob Penders. It was a lead NAC threw away with 14 minutes to go. Some slack play saw the hosts lose possession on the edge of their own area and Emanuelson was on hand to fire home via the assistance of a slight deflection. Koster's men were now on top and it came as no surprise when Heitinga nodded home a right-wing corner from Gabri with eight minutes to go to move Ajax back up to second place in the Eredivisie table. |

I still think that we can win the league if we beat PSV away next month. Just need PSV to slip up between now and then, and for Ajax to win every match. Winning the league this season is still not beyond Ajax.
