Hello,

I have been coaching at Y5/6 primary school now for 4 years. I have a boys team and also a girls team. My actual job is a Teaching Assistant within the school.

I have the FA1 badge and also left college with a BTEC ND In Sports.

Out of curiousity, where can i turn with such experience and skills to enhance my coaching career?

I'm in real need of help here, like most people i would like to really progress.

Regards,

Andy

Well my friend there are plenty of posts around the forum that may enlighten you on aspects of coaching. All i can really say at this point is that it really depends on what you want to get out of being a coach. In monetary terms hourly rates are quite good, however i must say that coaching as a rule is very much a part-time business that maybe rewarding in financial terms if you can fit it around a regular job. It really depends on who, what, when, where and at what level you would like to coach. If its a passion for sport in general that you have then there is far greater scope available if you try to progress down the sport development route with a choice of courses available that can create various employment opportunities in that area.
