100% record!!! I honestly didn't believe we can win all the group games, but glad to be proven wrong!

Our potential opponents in the knock out round:

1. Aberdeen
2. AEK
3. Zurich
4. Galatasaray
5. Brann
6. Anderlecht

I am hoping we can avoid Gala, AEK or Aberdeen this round. But with the form we are in, I guess we are the team that all of them would prefer to avoid instead!

With no really big teams in this round, I am confident we can progress. But can we go all the way???

I can see you going further after drawing Brann and seeing the opposition

Draw for the last 32:

Aberdeen v Bayern Munich
AEK Athens v Getafe
Bolton v Atletico Madrid
Zenit St Petersburg v Villarreal
Galatasaray v Bayer Leverkusen
Anderlecht v Bordeaux
SK Brannv Everton
FC Zurich v Hamburg
Rangers v Panathinaikos
PSV Eindhoven v Helsingborg
Slavia Prague v Tottenham
Rosenborg v Fiorentina
Sporting Lisbon v Basle
Werder Bremen v Braga
Benfica v Nuremburg
Marseille v Spartak Moscow

I have highlighted the testing teams in this competition imho but they are not unbeatable. Bayern have been talked about as UEFA Champions before they even kicked a ball but this season in the Bundesliga & uefa cup have been rather shaky

2-2 at home to Bolton
3-2 away to zvezda
0-0's at home in the Bundesliga

Everton are one of the best in this seasons competition. With Yakubu, Victor A and Johnson you have three good forwards which in this competition i feel is better than all but Bayern (who have klose, podolski and toni)

Everton with Arteta have a great creative midfielder and with Cahill you have a solid midfield presence and a flow of goals

Howard is a solid shot stopper, Lescott is a quality defender, McFadden has shown he can match it with the best and Yobo has experience

You're a good chance

Thanks for the support mate!

If we beat Brann as we should, our next opponent will be the winner of the Rosenborg or Fiorentina match. Going by reputation, Fiorentina will be our likely opponent in the last 16. Then this will really be a tough test for us!

Whether we are good enough to win the Cup depends on how we do against a top euro side like Fiorentina. If we do get past Brann and also beat Fiorentina, then I believe we will have as good a chance compared with any other team still left in the competition! Bayern, Villareal, Marseille, Bremen or whoever...... bring em on!!!!!!

What's new coming from "gerrard is dog"....... another pointless remark!

They are champions of Norway and not some really unknown team nobody have heard of! We will have to beat them anyways.......

Lets hope our defence improves after what Arsenal did with their hoofball tactics.

What an impressive result! A real thrashing......... Next up is Fiorentina. I think we can beat them and go through to the semis.

What a Euro journey thus far, breaking some records along the way. Was it 6 or 7 consecutive wins??? I sincerely think we can win the UEFA Cup.

For now, I think it will likely be a scored draw in Florence and we will finish the job at Goodison!

Come on u Blues!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark these words - Everton will not win the UEFA Cup.

I know you'll just think i'm being bitter, but you've struggled against far weaker teams than your Fiorentina's, your PSV's and your Bayern Munich's. I can't see how you stand a chance... this year anyway.

Words marked as I have nothing to lose with actually not expecting to win it! But don't mark my words. Wink

I happen to agree that it's unlikely that we'll win the UEFA Cup this year but what I really hate is your use of the plural when listing various teams .

There is only one Fiorentina , one P.S.V. and one Bayern Munich .

This spurious use of the plural , which you've obviously copied from media pundits is grammatically incorrect , or in layman's terms ..... boll***s .

And to add to the crimes against the English language , you've used an apostrophe .

Perhaps. But i was merely implying that there's various teams better than yourself, not that there's duplicate clubs in the competition. I thought that was obvious.

Are u refering to the present competition??? How can you say we have struggled against 'far weaker' teams when we have a 100% so far?? We have beaten AZ which had never lost at home for over 20 years in Europe... We also beat Nuremberg away as well as the reigning Norwegian and russian champions. I believe we have an equal chance of winning it together with any of the teams still in the competition.

By the way, Porto won the CL when nobody expected them to...... Even poo winning the CL was totally unexpected. Never say never mate.....
