Wait a sec, I thought they were just going to do a lap around the pitch showing off the League Cup before the game. What’s all this about a bus?!

The bus parade should be held on a day where there isn't a game - that can'be right.

The streets would be full, roads would be closed off - you can't do that on a matchday.

I agree with the legend that is Big Jono. Should keep the party celebrations for some 'nothing game' in the league. Uefa Cup game needs all attention on that game and not have players thinking about how much craic they had celebrating

Nice editing there Jonothan

Better a bit of editing than a warning.

Dragging on? Its only 3 days after the final. We've had to listen to it from your lot for 3 years, or whenever it was Roman joined.

Tottenham to parade Carling cup to fans before game against PSV on 6th March.

Worst thing we can do IMO, big danger of that match turning into a 90 minute lap of honour.

We need to knuckle down, forget about the Carling Cup and win the match convincingly.

Save the [beep!] for a pointless league match.

Give the players some credit! Do you honestly think they won't have their eyes 100% on the bigger prize?

Having the parade before that PSV game will, if anything, make them even hungrier to succeed, given how sweet the cup final victory tasted. That's how I see it anyway.

I agree there Johaldo. The players will see the reaction from the fans, and I'm sure that will act as an incentive for them to push on and triumph again.

Im not with you there guys, making a big deal out of the win at the next game, haveing a parade on matchday or something around the stadium will be a huge distraction to the job at hand.

We have professionals butsome like Lennon, Chimbonda, Hudd etc I see thinking (maybe subconsciously) the job is done and ease off.

Im all for celebrating it but at our next most important game of the season, the first leg against PSV is a bad idea.

And just saw this on BBC today, Sir Ramos has similar ideas

Tottenham manager Juande Ramos has blocked plans for a victory parade, insisting his players must focus on the Premier League and the Uefa Cup before hiring a bus. (The Sun)

Just to clarify, there isn't going to be a bus parade...

Quote:
Tottenham have declined the offer of an open-top bus parade following their Carling Cup triumph.

Haringey Council made the offer to the club, who will instead present the trophy to fans at White Hart Lane before the UEFA Cup last-16 first leg PSV Eindhoven on March 6

Whilst I get what you are saying Jono with regards to certain individuals possible slack attitudes, I don't think parading the trophy to the crowd will have such an effect - okay, maybe if there were bottles of bubbly being shaken up then there would be a question mark prior to such an important match.
But a lap of honour with a piece of silverware can only do good surely, the atmosphere at the Lane would be set alight prior to kick off.

No offence, but an open-top bus parading through the streets showing off the Carling Cup would be a bit embarassing to be honest

As long as the players arent involved I could live with it. If they are back in the dressing room preparing for the game while some club official carries the cup round the pitch or whatever they are proposing, thats ok but i still dont see the point. Its in the bag, an important match on the way to another, much more prestigious cup is not the time to be patting ourselves on the back for this one.

Ideally the league game against Birmingham this weekend would be at home, the perfect occasion for a lap of honour etc, whatever.

I hear you Bhoyo - FA Cup I wouldn't have an issue with, but parading the Carling Cup in front of a match crowd is fair enough me thinks.

Drogba is so self obsessed that he has to add his two pence worth. There was no need for him to get involved but so glad he did! He is a busy body, and so stupid as he is wasting his own teams time! what a mug! Laughing Like Tanio's reaction to the Chelsea players though, rubbing it in nicely!
