After our comprehensive away win against Man City, I think we have a good chance to secure 4th spot in place of the reds. We are on 50 points with a heathy goal difference. We are only 4 or 5 goals short of Liverpool. Must get some high scoring wins to put us in a better position.

These are some of thr tougher fixtures that I think will define our season.

Portsmouth (h)
Chelsea (h)
Villa (a)
Pool (a)
Arsenal (a)

We must get at least 9 points from these games to have any chance of snatching 4th. I feel the match against the reds is really make or break.

Looking forward to another foray into the Champions League.... We are much better equipped this time round!

In Moyes we trust!!!!

Its gonna go to the wire i think the Derby game will be a crucial factor Everton are playing well so its gonna be a right ding dong of a derby match plenty of goals i think.

Depends on the situation though. Both teams might approach this game in a cautious manner..... though I hope to see a end-to-end game with both teams wanting a win!!

Yeah, hope there aren't any silly sending offs that will spoil the game tho.....

I can't believe how similar this season is to the one in 2005,we were trailing behind the blues back then and scraped a 2-1 win in a vital match at Anfield,it's much closer this year though so that derby game is gonna be huge..

Everton can do it no doubt if they keep this form up,it all depends on how far they go in the UEFA Cup,now it's getting to the serious end and they are finally playing a decent team in Fiorentina,we shall see but it's gonna be exciting Very Happy

I personally think Everton need to be in front come April, 'cause they have a really tough end to their season - Arsenal, Chelsea, Villa and a perhaps relegation-bound Newcastle.

Ourselves on the other hand have it slightly easier. Our tough period is late March early April, where we have your lot sandwiched in between Manchester United and Arsenal... If we can get through that with our noses in front then we'd have to be favourites.

It could all hinge on those big games, as Everton don't look likely dropping many points and neither, given we continue to pick up some stride, should we. I can't physically wait for the derby though, and hope we're relieved of talking points summoned by say a terrible referee, and instead by quality football... Not that that's ever going to happen though. Razz

The last four games:

Chelsea (h) - Chelsea may have nothing to play for if they are already out of the running for the title. Believe the least we will get is a draw.

Villa (h) - Am confident of getting 3 points here. We tend to lose away to them and win at home.

Arsenal (a) - If the title race is still on for them, then don't realistically think we can get anything out of this game. A lost is likely unless the titled has been decided then maybe we can snatch a draw.

Newcastle (h) - Don't see any other outcome besides a win here. The magpies are terrible this season. Am looking forward to improve our goal advantage here as that may play a major part in deciding 4th spot.

Will be happy if we can get 7 points from these games. 10 will be outstanding and likely guarantee us 4th!

You'll need to be ahead before the Chelsea one though. Our last four games are:

Fulham (A) - They could even be relegated the way they're slipping. But they'll likely have some chance, and it could be tough but they're poor regardless of what they're playing for. Win here.

Birmingham (A) - Usually terrible against them, the one club other than Manchester United that we haven't won against. But i think that could have been more Bruce than anything. A win here again.

Manchester City (H) - I'd be more confident of this than any of them to be honest, as they're crap and even worse away.

Tottenham (A) - The hardest, but they'll have nothing to play for. We should be capable of a draw.

Assuming we're in form (which we'd have to be really to still be in contention for 4th), i'd fancy us to get around 13 points.

I honestly think that we will be slightly ahead on points come the last four games. Maybe 5 points..... So the final run in will be very crucial. Thats why I say we need at least 7 points from the last four games and 10 to guarantee 4th.

I've said all along that I think we'll finish 5th .

I'll be delighted with that ; as I always set a target of averaging 1.5 points per game , which would give us 57 for the season and mid table security .

We are clearly going to get far more points than that , and the whole squad and coaching staff are to be congratulated .

The only reason , some Evertonians are contemplating finishing 4th is because Liverpool have massively under achieved this season . With their squad , they should be a comfortable 4th ; and with the money they've spent , they should have a better squad and be challenging for the title .

Can we really finish 4th??? What will it take?
