Washington DC has a nice blend of things to do. There's the monuments with lots of history during the day, and then the clubs and bars at night.

Excellent! i was looking at some tours and the monuments by moonlight sounded pretty cool. i really wanted to go on a tour of the white house, but from what i saw, it seemed that you needed to a)live in america and b) have at least 10 people wanting to do it

I personally wouldn't go on any tours, you should just pick out a handfull of monuments/museums you want to visit and go to those. Some of the museums you can get lost in for hours and hours and hours. And most of them are all lined up in the same area.

The White House is very hard to get into now. You can cross that one off your list hahaha, but you can get a very nice view of it.

Baltimore is a good 45 minute drive north of Washington DC.

would it be easy enough to get to by bus? or another form of transport? we are planning on getting the greyhound tickets that you can use all over America to hop on/off, but i dont know if they run locally. i am quite clueless really! Confused

Our local metro system (the Tube in the UK) is quite small and limited. You can't get from D.C. to Baltimore on it without swapping onto a different system and I have no idea where and how to do that. Laughing As for the buss it should be doable. But can't help you much in that department other than telling you where the Greyhound station is. I just jump in my car and drive up there. hahahaha.

haha its alright for some! we debated renting a car, but soon said no when we found out it would cost us over £1000 to have one for 5 weeks!
hmmm i suppose if it seems simple enough to get there we'll go..otherwise i'll have to give it a miss. guess it would only be a grave anyway...!

It's at a church (Westminster Presbyterian) and it's haunted. You might see him at his grave or in the catacombs. Laughing
