Who Should Partner Torres?

I am really tired of not knowing who will partner torres up front. We don't score enough goals we have kuyt who tries and then we have voronin who is lets say not up to it. Crouch maybe his late goal was very good but still do we need someone else like a berbatov sharp shooter TAKES HIS CHANCES when he gets them or should we go with ryan babel which i think should partner torres at this point in time.

Trade Kuyt for Owen and that's the end of that chapter!

But with the current squad, Crouch for sure.

Owen? The man's not fit (literally, i mean) to partner Torres.

Not to mention the fact he'd just be a crappy version of Torres - half the pace he once had and twice the injury prone. Great. And we'd technically be paying £10million for that! (Given we'd be trading Kuyt for him, as you say)

I'm not convinced by Crouch as whilst he's great from the bench he just hasn't taken his chances when starting.

I'd rather go for Babel, who's naturally a striker anyway. He boasts a formidable shot from range, which is better for our second striker who Rafa tells to drop off, as he can loiter outside of the box and will still always be a threat, which Kuyt and co. aren't. He's a great dribbler, has terrific pace and can play a cutting ball through, which is ideal for partnering Torres, to play him in. If he could improve his passing to a consistent level he'd be excellent. Also, they're 20 and 23 years of age, so have so much time to form a mouth-watering partnership.

I can't argue about Babel, I think he'd be fantastic upfront...however I think Owen is far from over with his caliber of play and skill...so I think he would be a good fit....at least better than kuyt...what a waste.

As for Crouch...I still think he'd be good upfront....heck maybe make it a Babel and Crouch partnership....Torres on the bench...well those days that he's "tired" or hurt.

At the start of the season I was confident of our striking capabilities but it now looks like we are short of options -
Voronin - a waste of money even though he was a free transfer
Kuyt - a serious second season dip in form
Crouch - decent enough but is he right for Torres, best when he flicks the ball on in a midfield area giving Torres space to run at goal
Babel - looks like the best option to partner Torres, pace and skills gives defenders something to think about and creates space for Torres

So we are really looking for something new and I would be looking for someone like Robinho from Real Madrid. Skillful feet means that he will commit defenders often two or three at a time, and as long as he could get the ball through would mean space for Torres against fewer defenders

Mad there is only one partner for torres, and that is crouch, but crouch can play with many partners like babel or anyone that will give him a decent service and wants to see him score.

I think you guys do need to bring someone in to partner him, maybe Fred, Benzema or Ben Arfa. All good players that i think would work extremely well with Torres its quite odd that they are all lyon players.

I always thought and still thought Ben Arfa was a striker but wikipedia have him as a midfielder.

At the moment i'd partner Crouch with him. Gerrard just behind.

I would like to see Crouch play more as i think him and Torres as individuals will score many goals, but as a partnership i don't think it would work over a period of time.

Kuyt isn't a Striker he's more the Eidur Gudjohnsen type, can score goals but works hard for the team and is more of a attacking midfielder.

Voronin i don't class as a striker either he's a very similar player to Kuyt, can score but he's more creative.

Babel and Torres would be an interesting combination, both lighting quick and strong. Benitez prefers Babel out wide for some reason but i would be intrigued to see them two through the middle.

Think we need a player like Adebayor or Drogba, some one who is big and will smash players off the ball, hold it up and out muscle people, thats the one thing i think we lack going forward.

torres up front on his own with gerrard as the supporting role it seems to be workin and i like it.........

Sell voronin get about 2 mil
Sell kuyt (Newcastle) will pay 5 mil please god
Sell crouch even though i like him alot....

we could gamble on riga from levante who has been outstanding very strong and quick in the mould of drogba.....also promote lindfield and give him the chance..

T99, I wouldn't sell Crouch because if Torres gets injured he and Babel will do well.
What about Villa, he has played well with Torres for Spain or obafoba Martins, swap for Kuyt?

We don't need a partner for Torres playing 4-2-3-1, unless it's a player that can play out wide also. Personally i'm happy with the likes of Babel, Kuyt and Crouch making up the attacking positions, partnering Torres if we should use 4-4-2.

I would definitely buy another striker in the summer and considering Real Zaragozas precarious position in the Primera Liga drop zone, Diego Militio would be the perfect candidate to partner Fernando. He has all the qualities of a typical English centre forward; an excellent finisher, strong in the air and a notable physical presence, the Zaragoza striker would be just the man to compliment Torres' direct style and, results impending, at a knock down price aswell. Idea

I would get rid of PC and AV.
Both r not good enough to wear da red shirt.

Ryan Babble should be given a shot, as should christan nemeth.

DK is good back up, and we should try out Nabil El Zhar on da right wing more this year.

as for new blood, we could do worse by getting Robbie Keane or even his old mate Jermine Defoe.

But how about Rocky Santa Cruz?

Torres tho, he Towers above da rest, don't he!

(Pun intended!!!)
