In-Form Hibs take on second place Celtic at Easter Road on Saturday, a game i will be able to see live on Setanta, and i look forward to it. Team news is as follows:
Quote:
Hibernian goalkeeper Yves Ma-Kalambay is suffering from a groin injury and may be replaced by Andrew McNeil.

Captain Rob Jones continues to struggle with a hamstring injury but striker Colin Nish should shake off a dead leg in time to feature.

Celtic striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is expected to feature after recovering from a hamstring strain.

Georgios Samaras may make way for the Dutchman as manager Gordon Strachan completes his two-match dugout ban.

Hibernian: (from) Ma-Kalambay, McNeil, Gathuessi, Hogg, Jones, Canning, Hanlon, Zarabi, Murray, Rankin, Beuzelin, Shiels, Zemmama, Fletcher, Nish, Morais, Chisholm, Benjelloun.

Celtic: (from) Boruc, Hinkel, Caldwell, McManus, Naylor, Nakamura, Donati, S Brown, McGeady, McDonald, Killen, Samaras, M Brown, Hartley, Riordan, Sno, Robson, Vennegoor of Hesselink, Caddis, Pressley.

Your thoughts on the game? I will predict a narrow 2-1 Celtic win.

This will be a tough one with Hibs new found form. I'll be happy with any sort of win but think it'll be very close. I'll go with a 2-1 win to the good guys like Floody. Team will more than likely be:

............Boruc

Hinkel...LOL..McManus..LOLx2

Naka..Brown..Hartley..McGeady

.......McDonald...JVoH

Don't think big Jan is 100% at the minute so Smaras could be stepping in for him again. Strachan tends to opt for Hartley over Donati for tough away games to try and protect the back 4 abit more. Can see us depending on Boruc to pull out a few top drawer saves to keep the Hibees out

At the end of what i thought was a relatively poor first half, the score remains at 0-0. Not much created by either side in all honesty, Nish putting the ball in the back of the net but having it ruled out for a marginal offside. Donati has been struggling all half and i wouldn't be surprised if Hartley was brought on. McDonald being kept quite and Celtic struggling to really get hold of the ball and pick out passes.

Finally a breakthrough, 1-0 to Celtic just past the hour mark and Lee Naylor slots home his first goal in Celtic colours. Good driving run after collecting the ball on the halfway line from Naylor, he got somewhat fortunate with a ball through that was blocked which set him up perfectly for a cool finish.

I hope that goal can spark this game nto life.

He's done it again! 2-0 now to Celtic on 75 minutes and another teasing Aiden McGeady cross was superbly headed home off the post by substitute Giorgios Samaras.

Finishes 2-0 to Celtic in the end at Easter Road, and after a very poor first half in which Hibs always looked the more likely to make that all elusive breakthrough, Celtic came out looking like a much better and more determined outfit in the Second forty five, scoring two good goals through Naylor and Samaras.

My feelings exactly!! Hes twice the player of Donati easily. And i never agree witha Dundee fan!!

And i thought the same ben, the strips were nearly the same, one of them should have used a 3rd kit today.

Great run by Naylor for the first goal - I only saw the brief highlights so can't comment on the detals as such, but it sounds like another good win for the Celts.

Like Ben I was wondering about the kit clash - a good case for a 3rd strip if ever I have seen one.

We were really pants in the first half and lucky not to be behind. Second half though we turned it on and made some decent moves. Good to see Naylor score. He has been really poor so far this season and hopefully this gives him the confidence booster he needs. Looked like he was really enjoying himself after the goal. The kit clash was annoying too. Don't think Celtic use their 3rd strip anymore but Hibs should've wore their away strip.

Donati has been playing out of his skin the last few games and deserves to keep his player. I'm sure Robson will take it off him over the next few weeks though but it wouldn't be fair to drop someone that has been doing well. he was poor on Saturday though so Robson might get a start next time around

Donati looked extremely out of sorts all game in my opinion, but most did in what was a very poor game.

What happened to that White Celtic kit with the gold and green lines down the side? Is that not the third kit anymore?

I was surprised Strachan played him to be honest. Thought he would have went with Hartley to just sit in front of the defence. Think that was one of Browns best games for us. Was all over the pitch and rarley gave the ball away

I don't know what's going on with it. They only ever wore it about 5 times in total but don't think they have wore it at all this year. I forgot they had that Green & Black one until I seen them wear it. It's been that long since we last wore it

Unofficial Daily Ranger Player Ratings

Artur Boruc 1: Feckin hate that hand waving, heid blessing, bead rattling CNUT! Should be sin-died from the game and sent back on the first bus to Transylvania or wherever the feck he’s fae.

Andreas Hinkel 2: Haud oan, a Hun running up and down the pitch helping yon Japanese diver out. That’s just not on, bring back wee weak Mark Wilson pronto.

Gary Caldwell 1: If only he hudnae scored against France then we could really, really hate this useless ugly square-heid adulterer, and naw, its no the same messing-about as nice guy Allan McGregor. Naw it isnae.

Stephen McManus 2: Thinks he’s a big shot wae his chiselled good looks and Action Man hair, we aw know Centre halves should be ugly and dangerous just like our own big Carlos. Also, spells his first name wrong.

Lee Naylor 0: What’s an Englishman doing playing for the mhanks? Guys a disgrace to Queen and country. How they Hibs players never heard us screaming 'Staun on him' is beyond us.

Shunsuke Nakamura 1: Least he never won a shitey free kick this week. The quicker this Charlie Adams wannabe gets shanghai-ed back tae China the better!

Scott Brown 1: Where the tattoo noo? Probably had it made into a shamrock by noo the durty wee turncoat basturt! Thinks he’s hard, well just wait till Christian kicks feck out of him at the end of the month.

Massimo Donati 0: We've really got to get this guy out of the Scottish game as he has the potential to be a major player for the Timmies over the next few years. Keep at him long enough and the stupids in the Sellick community will start believing our agenda......as they always do!

Aiden McGeady 0: Huch spit, traitor alert. We just don’t get it, why aw the hoopla? What’s aw this crap turning, twisting, this isnae fecking Dancing on Ice, its fitba, blooter and kick, blooter and kick. The quicker he and his feckin Riverdance feet get tae feck back tae Paddyland the better!

Scott McDonald 1: From a hero to a zero. It’s sad when life turns out so cruel for people you once held so high. Wee midget fecker!

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink 2: Bad enough an Englishman playing for them, but a Dutchman too! Wee Dicks wig must be spinning on its mannequin. No that, he’s big, lumbering and deathly slow...he could fit right in at Ibrox!

Subs:

Georgious Samaras 2: Aye he can score a goal or two but that hair would never be accepted at any club with dignified self respect. Only the wearing of Orange boots earns him a 2.

Paul Hartley 0: How’s that dream move turning out now we wonder? Could have continued pleasing us in a Hearts strip but naw, jumped ship and he can now rue that move with our pleasure! Beardy, scruffy cnut!

Barry Robson 1: From a star man at Scotland’s second Tangerine club to benchwarmer. The boys an idiot and we’ll make sure we dig up some made up durt on him, oh don’t you worry!

Manager:

Gordon Strachan 0: Feckin despise the annoying wee sarky fecker who thinks he can try and win three leagues on the trot. He also believes he can rip the pish oot of me and my degree-educated colleagues at press conferences to the mirth of visiting English journalists. Well let me tell you this ginger-baws your time is feckin coming and I’ll be the first Scottish fitba hack to dig my high-heels into your back when you do eventually get the bullet!
