Florentino has said that He will try to sign three players in January: two midfielders and a striker. Who do you think Real should sign??

Henry would sound good, but when Raul recovers from his injury, there would be overcrowd in that zone. For the midfield, I'd join Ballack (though it may be for the next season) and would try with Gerrard.

Just altered the title a little bit mate so it makes more sense.

I think they need a really solid central midfield pairing. Dont care who it is or how they get it but it is essential to this team going forward.

Yea, 'Who should sign Real Madrid in January' Would be very clever of someone to sign a whole club, do you think Chelsea could afford it?

Well Real Madrid would be pretty nieve to sign players who are cup tied in the Champions League if they have any aspirations of winning it. I think that Real's priority is the Champions League now so they have too find players who would be eligable.

The holding midfielder. They've tried Gravesen and Garcia, both good players but not really up to the Makelele-standard. The start of their slide seems to have coincided with his departure.

The thing about signing players who are cup-tied, normally I'd agree but their problems seem pretty deep-seated so they need to look ahead. If they can identify the right players they should go for them regardless of whether they're cup-tied or not.

They need defenders and defensive midfielders.

Keane is already on there list as is Ballack.

A striker? What for? Real already has 3 world top strikers: Ronaldo, Robinho and Raul.
Real needs to work out its midfield, first.
Ballack would be good for a start.
Or what about trying to get Makelele back?

Afrinix, are you kidding me? What on earth makes you think Makelele would return after the way he feels he was treated by them? I don't think that's going to happen..... Shocked

THey need him back, but it wont ever happen as orange says. And also cos Mourinho has now made him the worlds best in that position with his refinement of Maka's tactics.

It's easy, just the reason why he left: MONEY. If Florentino pays him more than Abramovic, I'm sure He would come back. But as I said before, we don't want Makelele (and he's old, we already have some old players).

You should want him, Makalele would do wonders for Real Madrid at the moment. Just what they need.

I don't mean he's not good, what I mean is that we don't like him because the way he went out (and it's not fair that you say the only guilty was Florentino). For example, everybody knows that Figo is an excellent player, but I bet my life that a Barcelona supporter doesn't want him to come back. It's the same.

Well hes 32 but i think still has 4 or 5 god years in him. Not wanting him back because of the bitterness his departure caused is a factor i didnt think of tho, fair enough.

And you've been searching for the right player to fill his position since he left, and Real has been on the down since he left as well. Like I've said before, maybe his name wasn't a Big name that Florentino lusts after, but the guy plays the position as well as any other in the world. Once again, the problem is you're man in the three piece suit that buys for the big name, not for the position.....

Tell me Raul, whats you take on Florentino, I can't remember you ever talking about the job you feel he's doing...Do you think he's done well since he's taken over?

I was quite happy in his first 4 years, but I can't say I am anymore wih him. Anyway, I think He's a very good president for Real. Before he came, Real Madrid had a huge debt to pay, then He solved that problem and won some tittles having the best team in the world. It's obvious that his project is not working nowadays, but I'd like to think that's gonna change for good.
But I have to admit that if there were elections now, I wouldn't vote Florentino.

He will strengthen the midfield up a bit but he will never keep up with the pace
