Last season alot was made of the Milan win over United in Kaka getting the World Player of the Year award.

I guess he won't be winning it this season then.

So who is the best player in the world?

Answer: Ronaldo.

Kaka never was the best player in the world.

He was the best in a few massive Champions League games, but throughout the season he wasn't anywhere near that standard.

Answer - Ronaldo.

Ronaldo will win it this year. Messi has been injured far to many times this campaign.

There's 9 months left. It's not the entire campaign they are judged on, it's the entire year.

Last year many people went on about how Kaka's defining moment was vs United, even though Ronaldo was obviously better throughout the season.

Ignoring the award, calender years and injuries Ronaldo IS the best player in the world!

Ronaldo will be the best when we find him in the field during the important games. Ive tried many ones but he always hides himself so well

Ronaldo rarely turns up in the big games, whilst Kaká only turns it on when the occasion suits.

Cesc does the business against all sorts and he outclasses both those guys on the same pitch. Wink

Ronaldo doesn't do it against the big clubs. Most people who say he is the best in the world, only see his highlights on tv showing his doing the odd trick, scoring goals for fun - however you don't see in the highlights the amount of times he gives the ball away or the amount of wasted free kicks he does, or the times he is not bothered to track back after losing the ball himself.

Yes he is a great player, but he needs to improve those things before being labled World Number 1.

It is amusing that some United fans state he is the best, knowing fully well he doesnt do it in the big games yet - however those same fans slated Thierry Henry for the exact same thing.

Fabregas is also not the World Number 1. Great player, but not world number 1. I would have a Ronaldo in my team before a Cesc. He was "outclassed" by Anderson and Fletcher on the same pitch Wink

Great players cannot be expected to perform consistantly against the big teams as these teams have the sense to mark them out of the game.

How many times have u seen Ronaldo being marked by just one player? He always seems to have 2 or 3 players rush towards him as soon as he gets the ball.

Against world class defenders that is a very big ask!

He may not do it against the big teams, but what he does do most of the time is so stunning i believe he is the best.

He may give the ball away a lot, but so do many other great players. The sheer number of goals he scores is so phenomenal he has to be right up there.

He isn't anywhere near his best against the big teams in the CL, but in the last 6 knockout ties against big teams for Man Utd he has scored 4 goals. So despite not playing to his best, he has a knack of still scoring.

I personally believe that most of you don't watch the full games and only watch the highlights.

It only takes one or two moments of magic to change a game.

Ibrahimovic is one of the best around at the moment, don't know if he's the best but one of the best 3 anyway
