Hi All.....

Being new to the coaching scene i have completed the FA level 1 certificate and have now enrolled on the FA level 2 course starting in July at my local county FA centre.

Quick question......

Does anybody have any 'tips and tricks' / suggestions as regards this course please, to aid completion and passing it?

cheers all Very Happy

No tricks, just tips.
Ensure you are coaching on a regular basis. An 11aside team would be good.
Attend every session, and the follow up drop in sessions too.
Complete the portfolio early on - leave it lingering and you'll never do it.
Spend time on websites, reading journals, football magazines etc, you'll pick up a lot.
Try to conform to the FA's suggestions. Everyone has an opinion, the ones that refuse to change slightly are the ones who inevitably fail.

Always ask for advice. The tutors are there to help you pass. It is by no means a guarantee, but hard work does pay off.

Finally, you could ignore all of the above, because I know people who have never played(and I mean, never), have coached low numbers with no real development for under 6 months, and have still passed.
I also know a bloke who has coached 3 separate teams over 10 years who failed.

Listen to the Tutors, take part in every session and pick up ideas from the other coaches
Don't leave your portfolio to the end - Get it done while its fresh in your mind
You could be an excellent coach and be failed on your portfolio…!!

Don't think you're better than the course - be professional in everything you do
It might not make you a better coach - but it will make you more organised
