I'm not scared of facing Man United; i am scared of losing to them though. Which i'm not sure is worth the risk... It obviously could quite easily go either way.
The only side i honestly fear is Arsenal. We can't tend to live with them. |
That’s why I said you’re scared of them – because you fear losing to them. You fancy yourselves against everyone else but when your boys step onto the pitch with Ronaldo, Rooney etc. you’re worried. I’d say most if not all Man Utd fans aren’t scared of drawing Liverpool at all. |
But you're insinuating that we are scared of United because we can't "turn them over", which is backed up by your point about Ronaldo and
Rooney. I'm not afraid of competing against them - because we have done very well in the past - i only fear losing to them because of the rivalry. I don't think we'd lose, but the possibility (which you'd be stupid to ignore) of us going out to them is not a great one. It's different to
Arsenal, who i fear playing because their style of football rips us apart... I don't fear going out to them as such though.
Losing a derby/grudge match is bad, but losing it in the biggest competition in club football makes it 10 times worse.
That's the fear of playing United.

| I don’t believe you fearing Arsenal over Man Utd. You battered Arsenal 4-1 last season! OK, they beat you in the cups, but Man Utd virtually always have your number (apart from the FA Cup tie at Anfield two seasons ago). |
As Sticky said, we can match United football wise, which we struggle to do against
Arsenal.
