Motherwell v Celtic
Motherwell captain Paul Quinn is still suspended for the visit of Celtic.
He will serve the second half of a two-match ban, but otherwise Well manager Mark McGhee has a full-strength squad to choose from.
Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Fir Park.
The champions will be looking to close the gap on league leaders Rangers after a disappointing scoreless home draw with Dundee United in midweek.
Motherwell (from): G Smith, Malcolm, Craigan, Reynolds, Hammell, McGarry, Hughes, Lasley, Fitzpatrick, Lappin, Porter, McCormack, Clarkson, D Smith, Daniels, McLean, Murphy, Murray.
Celtic: (from) Boruc, Hinkel, Caldwell, McManus, Naylor, Nakamura, Scott Brown, Sno, Robson, McGeady, McDonald, Samaras, Vennegoor of Hesselink, Mark Brown, O'Dea, Hartley, Donati, Riordan, Killen, Pressley. |
Giving this one a watch live on Setanta tomorrow before the Reading game and hope for a good encounter despite the poor football being played just lately from the hoops. If there was a time to give them a game now is it and providing Motherwell step it up they might be able to get something here.
I still predict another narrow Celtic win however, 1-0 to the Bhoys.

Ah well. After a morning pitch inspection at Fir Park the game is off due to a waterlogged pitch.

This is a f*cking disgrace! Really, really getting out of hand. Them f*ckwits in the SFA need to get their finger our of their arse and sort out some kind of ruling. 2 postponments due to pitch conditions and you getting a heavy fine. What is Setanta going to do now?

It's not fair on the travelling fans or even the people like your good self who sit waiting to watch the game. Something has to be done about it

I reckon if they can't meet the fixture, it goes to the away team (eg todays game would be rescheduled at CP). That way the club would lose out on the match day revenue and they wouldnt be long sorting things out. Also, the people that suffer (eg travel support) could maybe benefit from the home tie in someway, if the club approved of course.

Poor pitch conditions. Rained all week in Motherwell and the pitch was unplayable

Would take too long to get all the staff & police and the majority of fans wouldn't be able to make it probably
