Aaron Hughes - Villa

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Newcastle defender Aaron Hughes, we beleive they signed him at around about the £1,000,000 mark. The Northern Irish international and arrives at Villa park as there second new signing after Patrick Berger. He has signed a three year deal at Villa beleived to be on around £10,000-£20,000 a week.

This is the first time that Hughes has moved to a club, and he says its all a bit new for him. He said " that both clubs are really big (Newcastle & Villa) and they both have great traditions. Hughes who has been capped 40 times by his country played 279 appearences mor the Magpies.

However Greame Souness is looking to re-generate hsi squad, and to do that he needs to sell. he beleives they had a really disspointing season and he is now trying get Newcastle back up there.

He is a decent player who has never had first team chances regularly for Newcastle. A good signing for Villa.

Hughes has been a loyal player for the club , coming up through the youth team and playing any where in defence.

I think we should of got rid of O'Brien instead of Hughes.
