People say Rijkaard isn't a good manager because he has greatly underachieved with ne of the greatest teams the world has ever seen over the last few years. They have a squad that should falatten anyone. He deserves criticism for that.

BUT let's not forgot who built that team, and where Barca were when he took over. they were a real mess. An embarrassment. Light years behind Valencia and Real Madrid at the time. The team was mid table, and they had financial problems. Rijkaard turned things around, and transformed them into a league and Champions League winning team - the best team in the world at the time.

Few have won what he has won.

I don't think he is a great manager, but he certainly is not a bad manager.

Maybe Rijkaard is better suited behind closed doors in an office than on the sidelines trying to motivate his players or select the right squad for each matchup.
