Benayoun and Crouch deadwood?

One of our best players this season and our top scorer last season!

Correct. Crouch isnt what we need anymore, 6ft plus and he cant head the ball. Some excellent touches yes but lay offs dont win football games.

Benayoun just doesnt do it for me. Simple as

Fair enough, but i think he has done well.

If he is deadwood, then what the heck is Kuyt?

I can understand people thinking Kuyt is dead wood but he runs his plumbs off each and every game, not for one minute can his work rate be in question. He has had a bad season yes but he's not what I would call "deadwood"

I admire players that do that... Little steven Pienaar runs all over the park when he plays.

We should just get a long distance runner on right wing if football ability doesn't count!

Kuyt is awful on right wing. He was fine upfront last Season when he was allowed to do what he did but then Rafa got hold of him and slowly but surely destroyed him.

I disagree. The death of his father affected him badly and his form. He's on the right as we're short in that area and even though he's a striker I think he's doing an ok job, not great but ok.

We need a world class winger(s) as we lack width big time

I find it quite funny how nobody was moaning when we went on a 7 game unbeaten streak

I heard a lot from Liverpool fans about this winning streak but let's look at those games:

Inter at home (against 10 men)
Middlesbrough at home
Bolton away
West Ham at home
Newcastle at home
Inter away (against 10 men)
Reading at home

Yes, Liverpool did well to win them all and Torres scored loads of goals, but once he comes up against a top defence he's stubbed out like a cigarette.

Inter only had ten men (twice). Hardly a fair reflection on their defensive capacity, even less so when you consider that they had both Materazzi and Cordoba missing in the San Siro.

He scored against Chelsea when he skinned Tal Ben Haim - Chelsea's FOURTH choice centre back.

Would you call Porto's defence top? Confused

Torres might start to score regularly against the big teams but let's just keep on the ground - I expected Rio and Vidic to deal with him and deal with him they did. I thought he played OK yesterday but he was too isolated. He needs help up there in my opinion. Kuyt is not the answer.

Porto don't have the best defence in the world, but it's probably better than Arsenals! They obviously a good team, their record in the Champions League makes that clear to see. Their defence can't be that bad, look at how much Chelsea struggled against them last season.

You can't really expect him to do well against the best defences when he has little or no support.

He has scored against Real Madrid, Barca and Valencia in the past.

Kuyt form went to [beep!] not because Benitez saw he would run his ass off and dropped him further and further from goal but because his arl fella died?

If that's the case just how many dads' has Riise got?

Kuyt in Sundays game was shocking. I think Rafa's subs were dodgy - and when he put Benayoun on, it gave Kuyt the opportunity to go and join Torres up front. But Rafa told him to stay back, which was very odd.

Still, 3 points in the bag

It's called small team tactics mate... Rafa said it himself.

Fair enough - but when you are 1-0 down the first thing you try and do is score the equaliser, not sit back and damage-limitate. You don't see small teams like Wigan or Birmingham do the same.

Now what are you prattling on about. Has Moyes decided whether you are a big club or a small club yet? Seems to change his mind every week.

When was that? Was that before or after Torres was getting kicked about? The Kuyt-Benayoun substitution cam much later on lad.

I just heard some of Benitez's post match comments. He said that there were two games - one before the red card and one after. How? Man Utd were already winning 1-0 and were created several other chances anyway!

In fact, he said before the game that Liverpool were improving each time against Man Utd and were getting closer and closer to beating them. Not on this evidence!

Seriously, the amount of bullsh1t this guy tries to spin is comical. He's trying to pull the wool over people's eyes but honest Liverpool fans can see the alarming gulf in class between the two sides. Yet again, Liverpool fans walk away from this fixture with disappointment and inferiority from their most bitter rivals. The pain goes on and on for them.

In my opinion, only another CL final can half rescue another poor domestic season. But serious questions need to be asked of him now, and he has to start answering.

Tell me about it. If I hear "we control the game" one more time after a loss I might just put my foot through the screen!

You're right mate - I remember him saying that after the Barnsley game.

He's paid to control the results, not the matches.
