The romans will be looking for revenge from the defeat in last year, when they lost the 2nd leg for 7-1. Although I think that this time Roma has a more mature team and it wont be that easy for the Red Devils. Really looking forward to this one

If the match was to be played this week I'd be very confident on us winning the home game. Will see how we'll be doing that day, and I hope in a huge gift for my birthday Razz

If we (Liverpool) don't make it to the final i hope Roma go and win the tournament. No better place to start than by beating Manchester United... Smile

scusi amico.. i know you can't wait to play against us.. but we've got a pretty tight schedule.. so you'd need to queue up and make reservation.. Laughing

well.. since it's your birthday [buon compleanno].. maybe you should win 2-1 for the first leg.. and then we shall win 3-0 for the second leg.. is that okay?.. Razz

If think Roma lost this one a year ago at Old Trafford. By that i mean the defeat last season is in their heads, and they're going out there with it in their heads. They've lost it mentally before they even step out on the field.

It's a shame, but i think Man U will sail through, regardless of Roma's superb display in the previous tie against Real Madrid.

Francesco Totti will miss the home game, maybe also the return match

The captain suffered a muscular injury during the league match against Cagliari and will be out for the next weeks

The bad thing is not that Totti won't play, even if he's a unique player that can't be replaced by almost anyone, the big problem is that in his place is going to play Vucinic that rarely plays well in that position

i think Roma are going to play better against us without Totti. as much as i like him as a player, he tends to disappear in these big games (outside Serie A i mean) and even though i realise that Roma don't have many options in that position i still think they'll do better without him. the players will have to depend more on their own skills and not so much on his leadership, which will help them play even better.

maybe it's the pessimist in me, but i think Roma could surprise everyone in this game. i do hope they don't, though.

I'll be cheering up for Roma.
Too many british teams in the CL already Laughing
But I want Liverpool and Chelsea in the semis (I want Chelsea cause I don't like Fenerbahçe, not because I like Chelsea). Liverpool, Chelsea, Roma and Schalke would be great semi finals for me Mr. Green

M.UNITED will beat ROMA very easily because Totti will not play.
At semi-finals M.UNITED - BARCELONA --- FENERBAHCE - Arsenal.
And the final FENERBAHCE - M.UNITED.
And the oscar goes tooooo FENERBAHCE on 29.05.08 in MOSCOW.

See you soon...

Can't wait for this one, I don't think that we could be in better form going into the match to be honest, coming off the back of embarrassing Liverpool and then playing like we did against Villa at the weekend.

There are a few injuries including Carrick, Fletcher, Saha and Nani so that's a slight worry but all in all there should be enough to cope.

Here's how the team will line-up, I'm pretty sure:

-----------------VDS

Brown-----Rio-------Vidic------Evra

-------------Hargreaves

--------Scholes-----Anderson

Ronaldo-------------------------Giggs
----------------Rooney

And when you look at that team, you have to feel confident we can get the result so I'm going to say 2-1 to Manchester United.

on paper it looks like we can get the result we want (1-2 would be great), but i have a feeling it's going to be a tie. like Smithy, i say 1-1.
