Thanks for that one, very interesting to hear him state his take on things so bluntly.

Yeah, that was interesting.
I was glad to hear 95% percent of the hatred is aimed at Hicks, and the other 5% is at both of them. I've never disliked Gillett, and he sounds like a nice guy, who wants the club to do well. He just has a really bad partner. He was saying Liverpool deserve better. Good on him. |

Rick Parry Interview:
"If they're not able to co-exist then there needs to be a solution where one buys and one sells, or both sell," Parry told 5 Live's Sportsweek. "There aren't too many other possibilities but it's pretty clear that to carry on with the status quo is going to be extremely difficult." He continued: "There is no question that to succeed you need unity at the top, unity at the club, and everyone pulling in the same direction. "Without that, it is extremely difficult to progress and it is clear from George has said the unity is not there. "George has been pretty unequivocal in what he has said. You have to think he thought long and hard before coming out with the statement he made on Friday, it did not leave room for doubt." Dubai International Capital (DIC) recently failed in an attempt to buy into Liverpool, with Hicks refusing to do business unless he can retain a controlling share. Gillett appears to be open to offers and claimed DIC would be "responsible" owners. Whatever happens, Parry wants does not want the situation to drag on. "I think it brings it to a head - clearly for the good of the club," he added. "It's dragged on for long enough. The ideal would be to move to as speedy a resolution as possible." Former Liverpool captain Tommy Smith said the ownership saga had damaged the club's image. "It is a bit of an embarrassment because Liverpool don't hang their washing in public. "I think there was always going to be a problem with the two of them getting involved." --------------- Now I happen to think George Gillett has been very clever here. He has in that 5 minutes of interview put massive pressure on Tom Hicks & made both there positions at Anfield untenable. The fact that Parry has gone public suggests to me that we will see major moves this coming week. I said in a different thread months & months ago, Gillett is seen at Liverpool as the decent one of the two & his words have gone down very well at Anfield & DIC alike. |

What I find funny is Rick Parry's timing.
He has decided - now is the time to finally become vocal & it seems he is some what hastily maneuvering his position. But it is a totally pointless exercise. When DIC come in - He is out. Far too little and way too late. |

Its claimed this morning Tom Hicks, George Gillett & D.I.C will all meet at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.
With Rick Parry, along with Amanda Staveley, senior partner at PCP Capital Partners also present, this could well be that window of opportunity needed to resolve this matter & put this soap opera to sleep once & for all. This is what I think will happen. I think Dubai International Capital will raise there bid to both parties on Wednesday. Slightly more than whats on offer now. But it will be the case of, the improved offer they put forward is only relevant to that evening. If either Hicks or Gillett decline or object, the offer will go back to whats on offer now. Gillett is obviously in tight with DIC & is trying to maneuver a position for them that see's them take control of Liverpool as soon as possible. Hicks may well be resilient, but he is not stupid. Hicks is boxed into a corner & is in a position where he unable to force Gillett into selling. With Gillett & DIC now joining forces in a bid to oust Hicks, his chances of Anfield survival dont look good. The backers Hicks claimed to have are non-existent & with the news Gillett will never sell to him puts pay to him ever taking over all control of Liverpool. Speaking to a football man tonight, he said that he thinks Gillett in doing exactly what DIC wanted with that carefully but powerfully put interview, will find himself sitting pretty at Liverpool in some big future role. Not in over all control but in some capacity as he has always 'dreamed' of doing. However as things stand, Gillett is in no way in a position to spend millions of pounds on a new sports interest, but it seems as if the GEG (Gillett Entertainment Group) is very close to buying in to Montreal Impact's. My opinion is if Gillett did stay in would be in a very very small capacity. Joey Saputo of the Impacts claims this deal is almost done, so I would wager a few dollars Gillett knows he is soon to be in receipt of a few sterling. Look out for Wednesday though, should be very interesting. Dmjn100 |

Oh man, If this crank is chirping back up again you can pretty much guarantee that no deal is in the pipeline. I really wanted to roast these arrogant Gooners, but knowing that the ywo yank muppets will be there has taken the shine off the whole affair for me. What a pair of scumbags. |

Looks like you were wrong again, nutjob. You need a new imagination...sorry, "source" Not to worry, I'm sure one of your freaky fictitious predicitons will come true one day and you'll be a hero in internet Walter Mitty land. What makes me laugh is all these whoppers who just think DIC taking over automatically means success. They seem to forget basic things like coaching and players. If spending stupid money was the magical formula Real Madrid would win the league and CL every season. |
