Insua is definitely a Liverpool player - his loan deal was made permanent in an exchange for Paletta in the summer window - so he can't be one of the youngsters we've signed. They will be some obscure players, from South America it's said.

I did think the senior player was Rafinha but you could be spot on Benraul in saying Kaladze - we'll be on the hunt for a left-back, probably an aged one, and Rafa moaned in December that he'd missed out on Kaladze, so if the deal's possible again before the window he may have ceased an opportunity. I said we should sign someone to act as a stop-gap to ease Insua into the first-team and he would provide this nicely, assuming he can hack it.

He would make sense really, as the chances of securing a big name player (or one costing much) at this time is very slim.

And sb5, Villa and Aguero will not be coming to Liverpool, and i wouldn't really expect anyone of that stature to move in the summer. Just a warning, else you might be a little disappointed.

There's no record of Liverpool OFFICIALLY signing Emiliano Insua as far as I am aware.

Pirlo is also being touted as the "senior player" with Alonso moving to Spain.

Oh well if you say so.....

Any kind of actual proof, you know, just for a laugh?

Only my memory mate. I remember us signing him as part of the deal that saw Paletta move to Boca Juniors.

It does say so on wikipedia, i've checked. You'll probably find something on the official site if you look also.

Heard a lot about this but there is no mention of it on the offal on the player's page.

I don't ever remember seeing anything official about it either.

I hope it's true but the best I have found is "it's reported that...."

I have to admit that I'm sure I've read somewhere that when they took Paletta off us, Insua became permanent as part of the deal, but Insua's info page on LFC's official website says......

Liverpool signed Argentine starlet Emiliano Insua on an 18-month loan deal in January 2007.

The left-back is owned by Boca Juniors, though has never played a first-team game at La Bombonera.

I wouldn't have thought though that him becoming a permanent deal would be classed as one of the 'new signings'. Lot of rumours going around about Lennon being the main signing though. Wouldn't be a bad signing, and would fit well on the right of the formation, but I'd rather us bring in a left sided player and put Babel on the right. He's a fantastic player, but being so one-footed is becoming a bit too apparent in recent games, so I'd rather see him on the right in place of Kuyt. I heard Kuyt described as Anfields Prince Harry - 3 months in the front line and no one noticed!!

rdownes9 and Wtebar, are you boys getting your info from Koptalk?

I really do not think Lennon would interest Rafa. Yes he is very threatening with his pace but due to his poor crossing i cant see him being a target. Plus i can not see Ramos letting him go. I think Bentley would be a far better signing than lennon.

Benrual - I don't even go on koptalk so i wouldn't get my info off there. I can't remember where I saw that about Insua, but it was a while ago. But as per Liverpool's website we don't own Insua yet, so that must be true.

Heard from someone today that the new first XI player may be Pirlo with Xabi going to Barca for £12m. Iwouldn't want Xabi to go, and Pirlo is over rated, sso I hope thats not true!

"His loan move has since turned into a permanent deal, as part of Gabriel Paletta's transfer to Boca"

I doubt it for a number of reasons though.

1) He is still in european competition

2) it is not really a top priority position

3) he is holding out for a move to barca

I doubt Alves because of the fee he would command as well.

It will probably be some absolute practical unknown like Skrtel.

No ta Yobbo.

What about Zarate?

Young, pacey, two footed, makes goals, scores goals, good setpiece taker, adapting well to the prem already, if available for Brum surely available to us (unless they have some kind of first option).

Not my shout but I reckon he could be ideal the more I think about it.

Looks alright player hard to tell when hes only played a handfull of games. If yous did sign him i think hed be used like Benayoun is now, sparingly. He looks like a player who enjoys playing, so could see him leaving quite soon after joiniing. You never know though. I think you should be aiming for better though.

3 new players - Who do you think they are?
