Carrick - behind Anderson, Scholes and Hargreaves at Man U. Knows he won't get a great deal of first team football - could look to leave.

forget it.. we're keeping carrick.. he's not going to be listed for sale neither on loan.. go find someone else.. lol..

Not hard. Carrick is mediocre.

Carrick is a cracking player. Mediocre your having a laugh

mediocre/good.

Nothing more. Not very good, not superb, not world class.

mediocre/good? Not really the same or near either. You would have alrite in between that also me thinks.

To be in a Man United team you would have to be at least very good. Sir Alex wouldnt have it any other way

Huh?

And no, you don't have to be at least very good to get in the Man U team. All good teams have average players in them. Wes Brown i have been impressed with this season, but he certainly isn't ''very good''. He's proven that time and time against at International level. O'Shea, Kusczac, Pique, Carrick, Park, aren't all very good. All very good players to have, and most are good players, but a very good player is someone like Rosicky, Hleb, Bentley etc. And from last season - Smith and Richardson weren't very good. In fact Smith was and still is absolute garbage.

For a start how can you say Pique? Many times you seen him play?

Enough to not be impressed - at all. I wanted him to do well, because he's a young Spanish centre back, and it's good to see them do well in England. I do think he will become a good player though. He's just a bit young. Like Kaboul. I'm sure he will become a very good player.

Enough? Many games? i cant see how you could judge him when he has hardly played in England. So to bring him up is a joke.

Thats why he got rid of smith and richardson as they were good for him at some point then he felt they werent. Pretty obvious that?

No idea how many times i've seen him play. I've seen him enough to know he isn't ''very good''. I don't mean he isn't good, but he isn't what i would call very good from what i've seen. Players i think are very good are Lescott, Distin, Dunne etc.

Never heard of Septic Peg i mean Mystic Meg?

It doesn't matter. It was only one measly example. Overall from the last couple of years i'd still say he is very good anyway.

Hey all, first post and I'm from Hull, (don't laugh, we might be playing you next year!) but what's going to happen at Newcastle has been interesting me more than most other stuff since Kev got back, so I'll give my 2 cents :

Kev's well known for his attacking style, and yeah they could get far by attacking the hell out of teams, but if Newcastle are really going to be pushing for the big trophies from next season, I don't think that's going to cut it at all. The standard is just too high all over the pitch when you get to the best clubs nowadays, so he should probably try his best to strengthen the whole side.

First I'd love to see Owen stay. Yeah he had a confidence thing under Keegan before, and he's not done too well, but niether have the whole side. If Kev makes that side better, Owen will get a lot more chances on goal, and there's a chance he could run into the best form he's ever had, so yeah, I really hope he stays up in Newcastle, and that could be a big factor in how well the Magpies do next season. Also : with what they did to Tottenham the other day : that side, and the situation with club as a whole, doesn't look anywhere near as bad as it did, as far as I see it.

As for who to bring in : no clue, but as a first guess I'm thinking he'll go overseas a bit as well as buying from the UK, and bring in one or more from there. I just hope he doesn't buy too many older players. He should really be setting the side up for years to come with younger and middle aged (in football terms of course.) ones aswell.

Where to strengthen? Not totally sure here, but I'd suggest : A world class midfielder. Someone who can really hold the side together, and that can defend and attack if needed. Someone who can help them dominate in the middle of the pitch, where so much of the game is going to be fought out. Then a really good central defender to help shore up that defence. Like I said, I don't think just attacking will cut it when they come up against the best teams. After that I'd say a good winger, and I'm guessing that will probably happen, then another good striker. Maybe a really expensive and world class one, but I don't think he should spend too much and leave himself short for other areas of the pitch.

If he does all that, then brings in two or three up and coming players, maybe not very well known but who are quality, and can help give the squad some depth and promise for the future a bit more, I think they could end up shocking a lot of people next season.

Will all that happen? Probably not, but hopefully something of that nature will, and next season Newcastle can start ripping up some of the best teams in the Premiership, because I'd love to see them back at the top again.

i hope that hull are playin the toon next season. i have enjoyed seeing u lot comin up the leagues and would be great to see u make it to the prem. good message. as a toon fan i hope it happens but cant see it happening in the nest year. but hey, with Newcastle u never know whats gonna happen, gotta love that factor Razz

Right Newcastle need to bring in some goal scorers and some good defenders cause what they have is shocking like for example Owen against Blackburn was shocking missed so many chances when they needed him to at least put one away..............No surprise for guessing where they need to strength the most and that is defense simply because Taylor hasn't got a decent partner again.............But for me i love seeing Newcastle struggle HAHAHA

can you remember torres missing all them chances against Newcastle???? hes stil the best forward in the prem. alot of people like to see us stuggle, not sure why tho....

Kevin Keegan could be poised to move for Liverpool's beleaguered John Arne Riise after the Newcastle manager admitted left-backs are high on his summer shopping list. (BBC Rumour mill)

Lulz no thanks.

Riise is a solid player. They need defenders and some organisation tactically. Players are good up front and in midfield.

After listening to Keegans interview after the Chelsea match i have to say im not very happy!

He said that he will be looking to bring in 2 or 3 players Shocked
I was thinking atleast 5. If we only get 3 players i cant even see us getting 7th. I have a feeling that we will sell 2 or 3 players to begin with so its not sounding good.
It will all depend on who them 2 or 3 are but its not like they are gonna be worldclass.

If i was Keegan i would be looking for:
Center Back - atleast 1
back up for our full backs - we only have 2 full backs and they are playing Confused
Left Mid
Play maker - we dont create much for the forwards. Owen has been useful linking the forwards and the midfield but we cant ask him to keep doing that.
Forward - Viduka doesnt have much left in him. Its not like he used to run about loads but he cant even run now. If we come across someone like him but younger i would want to get him. Plus we might lose Owen or Martins. dont think so but still.

What is Keegan thinking! Rolling Eyes
