HELLO ALL!! from a friendly Canadian :) |
|
Hey how's everyone doing?
I'm a Canadian fan and I'll be traveling to Spain in June and may catch a pre-season game. Hope everything goes well. Question though for anyone in Spain, I like Barcelona but I'll be going to Valencia. Do shops in Valencia sell other teams jerseys or will it be strictly the Valencia jerseys? Also, if I'm walking down the street in Valencia/Madrid wearing a Barcelona jersey, will I be attacked? yes I know, maybe a dumb question...but I've never been to Europe before and "Football hooligans" get a bad image in the media here. All you ever hear about is how crazy the European fans are lol. Any help would be much appreciated |

Welcome matey - nice to have you with us.
But - please remember that Barcelona is in Catalunya - the people there regard themselves as much part of Spain as Canadians regard themselves the 51st state of USA, or part of France, or whatever Putrum will probaly tell you about it |

Hi, I think that in Valencia you will find shops that will sell Barça's shirts. And I suppose that isn't a problem walking to the streets of Valencia and Madrid wearing a Barça's shirt if you aren't unlucky and meet radical fans or annoying people. I wouldn't do it because Madrid and Valencia are the regions were hate more Barça but well don't think that you have problems. Perhaps I would only do it if Barça played there a Copa's final and there were a lot of fans in the street

Yeah that's sorta what's associated with Canadians. The thing is...we don't even realize we say it...it's a sort of accent I suppose lol. And to the above poster, yeah I like both bands. Atreyu's new stuff isn't the best but I liked Avenged's new album better than city of evil. |
