Would you accept that Liverpool has more than its fair share of trouble concerning its supporters?

Yes but no more than any other club from a big city really. Certainly not as many as is made out.

See that's where I disagree with you.

I don't hear much about Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea or Man Utd fans when they play abroad. Maybe Man Utd more than the london based sides we'd hear about e.g. the Roma and Lille games, but not to the level we hear about Liverpool fans. They've got history.

Even with the Hillborough disaster they were not blameless by any means, don't forget.

Can I ask when the last time you had the "dubious" pleasure of visting Anfield was?

the start of last season.

I can't deny how you see it as obviously I can't view it from your eyes but really I never see anything kick off round by Anfield other than when the obvious come to town and want a scrap and that is usually reserved for further down the road from Anfield.

It isn't the best advert for the city round by the stadium. The alleys (most of which are now closed off in Liverpool), the bordered up houses. There are a fair few scalls around but more than most are harmless.

Liverpool is as I say like most major cities, there is good and bad everywhere. The problem comes when the bad is sensationalised to be worse than it is and the good is quickly overlooked.

I read a match report about the Derby the other day that made out we weren't cultured enough. It's the Derby for [beep!] sake, culture doesn't just come down to champagne and caviar you snooty gobshites. What did they expect? I then read yesterday a piece that put down the working class people who dared to show up at the National. Far be it from them to enjoy an occassion that brings people from around the world to THEIR city to celebrate OUR culture. The greatest horse race in the world (despite Sheik Mo's billions) and they still would rather turn it into a pop at Liverpool. Well they can turn their noses up all they want, Racing may be the sport of kings but the National will always have a place for the people of Liverpool and I was glad to see the even organisers stress this point. If they don't like the National then feel free not to come next year, we won't miss you.

Getting back to the Derby though, so what if there were chants about players that were not repsectable. You show me a premiership ground where you don't hear an insult about the opposition and their players.

If we are in the wrong then believe me I will be the first to admit it but it seems all too easy these days to try and segregate Liverpool and their supporters from the rest of the league and fire shots at them. The worst part of all is, they know the power they have when they write these stories and they do so anyway. Ill informed and irresponsible journalism should not be lauded just because it has a pop at Liverpool!
