What do you think?? I think he's shocking, we certainly got what we paid for with him!!

Do you think he's bad enough to make it into your top 5 worst players at Anfield???

No. That's overreacting. He has had some bad performances, note against Derby County, but whenever he's played with Crouch he's looked very good indeed. It's just his style isn't suited to playing with Torres, which has prompted a lot of naff performances.

Against Arsenal he still managed to get two great opportunities, which you have to credit him with - but he fluffed them. That you have to remind yourself after being injured for a good few months.

He's nowhere near our worst ever.

He's not good enough for us though is he Ben? You have to admit that. When you look at our 4 strikers, him and Kuyt just don't look like goalscorers, and that just isn't good enough for a team with title aspirations.

I've only ever really seen him play once, and that was at Anfield for Liverpool V Spurs. Man he was awful, kept getting in the way of shots, kept giving away posession, giving stupid free kicks away. The only good thing he did all game was score a lucky goal Evil or Very Mad

He also needs to get rid of that stupid pony tail, that + wind is not a good combination.

I'd probably say no, seeing as he only operates well in a specific way, i.e. playing up to Crouch and feeding off the knock-backs. So it is difficult to fix him into the side.

He's fourth choice though, which you have to remember. You're never going to have an amazing fourth choice striker - even Chelsea, who have stars in nearly every position of their squad, only have Pizarro in their's, and how many goals has he scored? They aren't going to set the game alight. He's essentially replaced Fowler remember.

Personally i'd rather see the fourth choice be shared between a winger, like Babel, and a youth player such as Nemeth who can gradually be eased into the senior squad. There's no point having one established player specifically for that job when Torres, Kuyt and Crouch can suffice for 95% of games.

I disagree about Kuyt though. It's all about confidence with Kuyt and you can see that's returning, with two very good Champions League performances. He in full flow is a great squad player, and a different option. Yes he's a workhorse, but personally for me he's naturally a poacher - it's how he played in Holland and you see glimpses of it when playing for Liverpool... He does his best work in the penalty area and as i said, it's all about confidence with him.

Think your spot on there Ben about either Babel/Nemeth being used as the fourth striker. It was great to see Plessis make his debut at the weekend and he had a very good game, so it'd be good to see more young lads break through, and Nemeth looks like he could be the next to do it - if given the chance!

Kuyt is a great wroker, but too often he does his work in the wrong areas, he plays too deep and hasn't got the pace to get up top and support the front man. That said, i did think he had a very good game on Tuesday. He was a great outlet out wide all game, and held the ball up well. He's been through a lot this season with the death of his dad, so we'll give him the benefit and hopefully he'll be better next season.

Getting back to the worst player - Diouf is the most expensive bad player we've had, but how could i have forgotton Sean Dundee, probably cos the rest of the worlds forgotten him too! Waste of £2m that was!!

What about naming an all time worst XI? How about this.....

1. Mike Hooper
2. Abel Xavier
3. Julian Dicks
4.Torben Piechnik
5. Pellegrino
6. Paul Stewart
7. Jimmy Carter
8. David Speedie
9. Sean Dundee
10. Voronin
11. Istvan Kosma

Subs:- Bernard Diomede, Erik Meijer, Jan Kronkamp, Frode Kippe

HA HA Superb Wtebar!!! How can anyone say that Germans are more sophisticated than us??? We're talking about a nation that are massive lovers of wearing leather shorts, and David Hasselhoffs music!!

Any bloke with a ponytail is not in a position to comment of style or sophistication!!

Bugger off back to Germany if you love it so much!!

I actually agree with some of his statements. With regards to the Liverpudlian accent, along with NHS and certain areas of England being segregated. I think many more people would be more inclined to agree with him. If he was perceived as a more credible person.

On voronin, he played well with Torres at Sunderland, he was shocking against Arsenal, but he scored a few earlier in the season, he has been injured for ages.

I think Voronin plays well with Crouch. He did against Fulham and Besiktas anyway, the latter where Benitez said he was our Man of the Match (and i couldn't disagree).

Voronin could probably play in half the clubs in the Premier League.

The NHS has to deal with statistically the fattest, stupidest, unhealthy people in Europe. They provide a free service amd are laughably constantly compared unfavourably with Sweden and the like despite the fact Sweden has a population of about 8-9 million whereas the U.K is about 60 odd million last time I checked.

I think the NHS are one of the most underrated organizations in the world to be honest. Yes there are problems but you show me anyone with the same task they have who could do as well.

Give Sweden 60 million fat binge drinking morons to deal with and see how their figures get on then.

More to the point than all of this, why in God's name was his daughter not given private health care? the tight useless denim adoring tit.

If he played regularly he'd be a different player. Remember early in the season? Pre-season and Toulouse, for example.

It was nothing like the actual Bremen and their Season also finished well after ours so they were knackered.

Toulouse are in a relegation battle in a league where if you take out the champions the rest would do well to finish mid table in our league.

I remember being there as Cheyrou gave Lazio the run around pre season and he scored at the Bridge......

Spot on Wtebar - Anyone remember Bruno Cheyrou's first pre-season? We played Real at the Bernabau as part of their centenary celebrations, and he made a mug of the great Zidane. Totally outclassed him, but never quite managed to carry that form into competitive football.
