Second half has just begun in the second leg of this tie in Lisbon, and goalless as of yet with no real chances to speak of bar a Liedson header that struck the post. TH two systems deployed by each team seem to cancel each other out, and we have now reached about 140 minutes in the whole tie without a goal. The formation that Rangers play leaving Darcheville on his own to hold the ball up and wait for the support of McCulloch and Ferguson does not allow for much in the way of chances, but the priority they say was to defend well which they are doing. Lisbon have apart form that header had one or two long range efforts that weren't too far away, but they are really struggling to break down the packed Rangers Midfield in that 4-5-1 formation.

I hate the way Lisbon's players consistently go down under the lightest contact and constantly whine at the referee, Liedson was once again carried off on a stretcher in the first half only to be up and back on wthin a matter of minutes, just like he did in the first leg.

GOAL! And it's Rangers who score it and are now in a very commanding position. Great play by young Davis who pulled it back to Darcheville after a strong run and the striker slotted it past the keeper. 1-0 on the night and 1-0 on aggregate now, and its an away Rangers goal. Sporting must score 2 now without reply to win.

Goal again and Rangers are certainly into the Semi Finals now. Steven Whittaker, a man brought on just to add bodies to the Midfield and to sure up the left side, embarks on a tremendous run beating several green and white hooped shirts and finishing very well past the keeper.

Great result for Rangers, it hasn't been the best performance form them by any means but they have done what they needed to do tonight. They have defended reasonably well and got forward and scored the crucial goal(s).

Id say Fiorentina are as good as Werder, but sporting are terrible, they only have Moutinho, Liedson and Veloso who are any good. Izmailov is ok but they really arnt that great.
