Come on guys....all this Liverpool bias for Torres is going a little bit over the top. Fact - Torres is looking good because he is playing in a team FULL of average squad players. Fact - SAF was just 3 hours away from signing him for United but instead opted for Tevez as he thought he was better value for money. As I believe he is too, and a better all round contributor to team play. Fact - If Torres was in the United squad he would probably have less goals than Tevez has now. |

Other than the second one, your first and last statement cannot be proven as fact. Far too subjective and all opinions/speculations.

They both have very few assists, just a couple each as of early May. |

Don't present things as fact that you can't prove, mate.
Which means he's done remarkably well to score 30 goals, if he's surrounded by average players (who've by the way managed to get to the semi-finals of the Champions League and 4th in the Premier League (disappointing or otherwise, for average players it's a terrific feat)).
No he wasn't. He said he kept trying to sign Torres in prior season's but for Torres to sign a new contract and what not, so he gave up. Don't make things up. And you don't need a better "contributor" to the team, you have Rooney who'll do that in your attack - United need someone to lead the line in my opinion.
I fail to see the logic in this, when United are more attacking and dominate games on more occasions. But the use of "probably" in relation to a 'fact' is amusing, anyway. It's not bias - i think Ronaldo has had a better season than Torres. However, him taking penalties does give him an advantage with regards to his goals tally, and you can't really deny that. On any other season Torres would be Player of the Year, which is testament to Ronaldo's outstanding campaign. |

Glad you were amused.....and I didn't make up the '3 hours away from signing Torres' fact - admiitedly it is something I have heard elsewhere, and I did concede the other points were not fact, but were said tongue in cheek. |

Regarding the above Tevez/Torres posts, I would definately take Torres in the United team ahead of Tevez.
I would have loved Torres to sign for United. |

Well Torres has been better than Tevez this season no question about it. But I've been pleased with Tevez.
He's still only 23 or something & has shown signs of a world class player & he's come up with some important goals in really big games. |

what are you on about!! tevez will never score 30 goals for Man United in one season. he hardly starts a game. i get on with some Man United fans but theres always a few with their heads up their own ar$e$. |

Let me put it this way.Currently there are 9 teams ranked better than them so average would put them t about 50th ,but i think you get my point. France.italy.argentina.brazil.Germany are all better if Ronaldo shines against them in meaningful games he deserves credit.I heard he played a blinder for portugal against Brazil in the WC,but i didn't see it and i don't think it was a knock out game. The truth is he played in the biggest game of the season against Arsenal today and even his biggest fans would admit he was nowhere near his usual effectiveness. I don't need to harp on about it ,but it's quite obvious he wouldn't do much in this game take away the penalty and he wouldn't even be in this one relatively speaking. But you can hear sky say "as united and ronalddo come from behind and beat Arsenal". Very misleading comments imo. |

If you are assessing a players importance on goals scored then you would have to Pick ronaldo, but i would like to think we are a bit more sophistacted than that.Tevez a shown his ability with his heroic play for the relegation threatened West Ham. Torres nor ronaldo have done such things and may never have the chance to do so.I think Tevez' role is completely different with United than West Ham so you have to look at what he's doing in a different way.One thing is for sure If Torres is not in scoring he does very little for his team from what i can tell, same for Ronaldo to a degree, but Tevez is a complete team player who works his *ss off all over the field. |

Should be Vidic/Ferdinand together, they have been solid as a rock all season.

What have they won? All good getting to semi-finals everytime, but it's the winning that counts Stickaldo. Come on, you should know that, being a Liverpool, Madrid, Inter, Chelsea, Adebayor, Croatia, Man Utd fan and all |

I sure wish England reached even one semi final. Wouldn't Scotland be happy just to qualify? I don't think you can criticise that record. Especially for a country which isn't a traditional top team.

Huh? Chelsea, Inter, Adebayor, Croatia and Man U? Where the hell did they come from?! But yeah, Portugal haven't won anything. But their record shows they certainly are one of the best teams in the world. |
