Samuel Eto'o a perfect striker, but not modest.
He was complaining on his 10th place in the Ballon d'or winner list. He is saying that he deserved a better place. No one can't argue that he is doing a good job in Barcelona. But in the international competition, he didnt give that much. Results: Cameroon isnt qualified for the world cup.
That let me wondering, isn't Eto'o very good only because he plays with Ronaldinho? Will Eto'o get the same results if Ronaldinho is pulled out of Barcelona?
I think he is a good striker. But he should be thanksfull because he is playing at Ronaldinho's side.

well he scored 2 goals against Cadiz and Ronaldinho didnt play ...but then again they played Cadiz ...but he has been scoring alot and often ...but he scored 21 goals for Mallorca before he came to barca and he scored 28 there ....so his goals went up a bit ...but he had a decent record before he went to barca...so his goals will decrease a bit but i think he would still be a great striker...

He's a good stricker, but as Afrinux said, not modest at all. I saw the interview and He was very angry with the french media, specially with the "L'equipe" newspaper. He said "They lick his @ss" and He hasn't done less than Ronaldinho or Lampard, but french are mad at him because he hasn't played in France. I was like that Shocked when I was watching it.

I don't get what your saying Raul usually when you say ''Lick his ***'' that is a good thing, like if you were saying ''People over-hype David Beckham aka they lick his ***''. Did you mean something else?

ForeverUnited, I think you probably can get your point across with using that type of language, in fact I know you can because you do it elsewhere. The forum would appreciate it, thanks...... Wink

I didn't get you either Confused Do you mean that you don't understand what I wrote?
In that case, I'll try to rewrite a bit better:
Samuel Eto'o said that the french media licks (or sucks, or whatever verb you wanna put) his @ss. I'm not inventing it, that's what he said about them. He also accused them of calling him a jealous man because he has envy of Ronadinho. And that was the incident.

I think there is a language barrier there because over here if you say somebody licks your *** then that means they worship you and try to be nice to you but your saying it as if Eto'o meant they were trying to do wrong against him.

Oh...
No, he said it as the "worship" thing, but ironically, you know. And it sounded very rude, the worst thing of all. He said "They lick his ass" in an arrogance act. What he meant ironically was "They lick my @ss now because I'm a good footballer"

Ah right! I get what you mean now, it just wasn't in the right context when you said it. Yeah he seems like a cocky and really stroppy player and reminds me very much of Didier Drogba not only in attitude but playing attributes.

I think tenth is a fair reflection of his standing in world football at the moment, it is true that he is one of the top strikers in the world at the moment so i think he deserves his tenth spot.

Raul, I think we got the jest of what was said a bit earlier, I had to ask ForeverUnited to curtail the language and in fairness to him, I need to ask you to do the same. We got the point before....Thanks.

Facts you should first know:
1. Cameroon was a former french colony
2. Usually, former colonized people dont like their former colons

Summary:
As Raul stated above; Eto'o believes that the french dont appreciate him because he is from their former colony and he didn't start his career in France.
And from what I read, Eto'o thought that the journalists voting for Ballon d'or were all french.

Same thing with Fifa player of year, he accused his national coach not voting for him. But in the rules, a coach shouldnt vote for his player. Embarassed
