Barcelona, easily. I couldn't stand losing to United in the final. Razz

We'd be very nervy against them, given our record, although the one time we have beaten them is in the FA Cup. I think we could do it, but the fear of losing could take us.

Also, this is a European competition. If we got United, we'd of had to go through Arsenal, Chelsea and them to lift the cup - and, glorious as that might be, it'd be a shame to play so few of Europe's best outside of England, en route.

There isn't much difference in the style of play of these two teams (Chelsea/Liverpool) according to the football intellectual Jorge Valdano - It's 'Sh!t Hanging From A Stick'.

I would personally like to play Liverpool so that we can firmly put them in their place once and for all. I believe that we have the easier semi-final and that both Chelsea and Liverpool would beat Barcelona. I believe that POOL fans, IF they are lucky enough to get past Chelsea AGAIN, will be praying for a Barcelona win, because if they have to face us in the final, they KNOW they may as well not bother turning up. The ONLY problem with the 'playing Liverpool in the final' scenario is that WE would never hear the last of it from Liverpool fans about how great their team is because they will have appeared in 3 recent European cup finals, and I don't think I could stomach that. Sad

You didn't learn the lesson of last season eh??

I don't know if there are any lessons that I personally SHOULD have learnt from last season, but if there were any for SAF to learn, then I hope he has done so. In my opinion, United didn't win last years Champions League because of not enough strength in depth in the centre back positions, and I believe that weakness is still there. If we have both Ferdinand and Vidic fit then I truly believe United are the firm favourites to win, with Barca the poorest of the four teams left in the competition. Had Arsenal not been drawn against Liverpool in the quarter finals then I believe we would have seen 4 EPL teams in the semi-final places.

Laughing Laughing

i'm not certain if we manage to beat barca.. just to be frankly.. but then.. the leagues explain something for sure.. barca isn't doing well while we're being great at the moment.. Very Happy

yeah.. you'd to go through for those english teams which you already played against earlier.. it wouldn't make much difference compared to us who fought against the italian and hoping to beat the spanish too.. Razz

and also.. it's always different to play against Liverpool in european matches.. as they always perform unbelievably good Smile

At this stage in the CL it's impossible to guess who is going to win. Both sides are more than good enough to win with ease if they play to their best.

From what Ive seen of both sides this season, United should beat them. Barca are a shadow of their old team a couple of years ago. Ronaldinho is finished, same with Deco & Henry while Eto'o is nothing like he was either. Their defence is a disaster and will be even worse without Puyol. The only players that have impressed me all season have been Iniesta, Messi, Bojan & Xavi .

Rooney & Tevez will rip their defence apart and Im sure if Vidic is beck then himself and Rio will be able to contain Messi.

I can see United conceding at the Nou Camp but still go through overall

This season Eto'o 14 Liga games played and 14 goals scored, not bad.

I know he still scores goals, he scored a beautiful one last week but he never gets a decent enough run in the team anymore. The fact that hes only played 14 games shows that..

He played only 14 Liga games because was injured the first months of the season and then played the African Cup. I hope that with Messi he will play well against United.

I think i will go for united to win overall.

They usually blow it at this tage, but I think if they dont win it with this squad, with the other 3 teams left in being very beatable by united, then i dont know when they will win it.

United are the strongest defencively, and this usually is the decisive factor. Defences win championships!

United to win 4-2 aggregate, 2-1 in the final V Liverpool.

I'll go for a draw 1-1 or a win 2-1 for Barcelona.

I wouldn't be writing the likes of Deco or Henry of just yet. These players can be doing nothing one minute, then a flash of brilliance and they've scored. Heart says a Barca win but my head reckons United will sneak it Mad

No doubt about it, Barca have brilliant individuals that might just do it for them on the day, however, they don't appear to have it together as a team and in defence. Hopefully the game will live up to its billing, with open flowing attacking football from both sides.

Henry knows United's net very well and I am sure he'll be on the score sheet and lead Barca to the CL
