Midfielder Jonathan de Guzman believes the time is right to leave Feyenoord amid increasing speculation linking him with bigger clubs in Europe.

The 20-year-old, who is a product of the Rotterdam club's youth academy, has established himself as one of the rising stars of the Eredivisie since making his first-team debut in 2005.

De Guzman earned his first call-up to the Holland national team last month when he was included in coach Marco van Basten's 29-man provisional squad for the friendly against Austria.

And with Feyenoord announcing earlier this month that the sale of the Canada-born midfielder was "a serious option", de Guzman seems set to leave in the summer.

He told Sportweek magazine: "I haven't spoken with anyone yet. Not with Feyenoord and also not with other clubs. It is said that there is interest form Chelsea and Arsenal.

"My dream clubs are Arsenal and Barcelona. If clubs of their stature are interested then you can't say no.

"I am certainly open to possible interest from that corner and from what I have heard lately, Feyenoord are happy to hear from them as well."

The talented midfielder, who has spent his entire career at Feyenoord, added that he would be content to remain at the club should a move fail to materialise.

"The stories linking me with Arsenal motivate me, but I have been reading them for two years already," he said. "Up until now there has not been a concrete offer.

"So it could be that I stay here after this season, which is fine because I really feel good at Feyenoord."

De Guzman is a very talented young player. This (and last) season he was criticised by older players from Feyenoord because of being "lazy" on the pitch during matches. He has a contract at Feyenoord until July 2010. Because of this fact Feyenoord can ask a lot of money for him. Feyenoord already admitted that they would sell him if a good offer will come.
