It seems that Juve want to exhange Iaquinta + Cash for Mancini (Roma). First I thought o no, another stupid transfer but then I realized that we have Trezeguet, Del Piero & soon Amauri so it's a great deal, and he could replace Nedved as he is only 27 (or was it 28?).

"According to the Corriere dello Sport, Juventus have offered Roma Vincenzo Iaquinta plus cash in exchange for Amantino Mancini.

Iaquinta only signed for Juve from Udinese last summer, and despite a good season, he has grown frustrated at largely being a substitute for David Trezeguet and Alessandro Del Piero.

Mancini has also impressed at Roma, but his contract expires next year, and he is almost certain to leave the club this summer after he rejected a new deal earlier this week.

Juve are looking to add some flair to their squad in the summer, and the Corriere says that they have already opened negotiations with Roma to sign Mancini.

The Bianconeri have offered the capital-outfit Vincenzo Iaquinta, plus cash, in order for the transfer to go through.

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti would be delighted if this exchange was completed as he is a huge admirer of Iaquinta, having successfully coached him at Udinese in the past.

He would then use the money he receives from Juve to sign Toulouse fullback Jeremy Mathieu."

Sounds like a good deal for both teams.

I don't appreciate much Iaquinta but Mancini will leave and it's better give him to Juve than to Inter. Anyway I still can't understand why we didn't sell Mancini months ago when Liverpool were interested

We've heard this news before about Liverpool perhaps losing Torres, but it looks like Juve are monitoring the situation to maybe sign TOrres.

Both AC Milan and Juventus are following Fernando Torres situation closely, following reports that Liverpool may be forced to sell him due to financial problems.

The Merseysiders borrowed money to sign Torres from Atlético de Madrid last summer and then refinanced that debt in January, at the same time as they obtained a refinancing package of £350 million (€442m).

According to The Times yesterday, the smaller refinancing package helped buy Ryan Babel from Ajax and was an 18-month agreement with interest of nine percent, which is around £2.8 million a year (€3.5m).

A letter of credit was signed whereby Liverpool agreed to pay that fee back at the end of the period, but should the club be unable to do this then banks could force them to sell the two players that they bought with the money.

“Liverpool entered into an 18-month loan agreement with interest of 9 per cent - £2.8 million a year - with a letter of credit to pay back the £31.5 million at the end of the period,” says the newspaper.

”Should Liverpool be unable to pay back or refinance the loan, banks could force the sale of Torres and Ryan Babel, who was also included in the smaller refinancing package.”

According to reports in Italy, this has alerted Milan and Juventus, who are ready to pounce if Liverpool are forced to offload Torres.

The Rossoneri were in the race to sign the Spanish star before he moved to the Premiership last summer. "

Torres will not leave. Even if they can't afford repayments they could sell many other players to raise the cash.

I think the idea is that the bank would force us to sell Torres and Babel as they were the players the loan was used to sign. That's the impression i got. Not that i think it'll ever come to that, and Rick Parry has already discredited such a story (then again, its Parry).



If he did somehow leave, i think it'd be to:

- England: Chelsea. He has said he wouldn't join United, so that leaves Arsenal and Chelsea, the former of which i doubt would pay up.

- Spain: Barcelona. It's one of them or Real Madrid, and he's also ruled out the latter, what with his club being Atletico Madrid.

- Italy: AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus. I don't think he'd have too much preference, although i could actually see him joining Juve somehow. Assuming they improved over the next season.

As i say, i don't think he'll leave - not unless we go a few seasons without any silverware.

We can always hope he does, after all he would want to win a league title & face it, it's never going to happen with Liverpool but with Juve everything is possible .

Well i suppose if you're in a league with little real competition anything is possible. Plus if you can't win the league, you can always fix it.

Damn it, everybody is hitting the Old Lady under the belt, but hey it's expected... after all they haven't won the league title in about 2 decades or more and by the way there is lots of competition in Italy, last year Milan were CL winners.

Italy is at least as competitive a England I would say.

Anyway, on with the rumors, Juve are said to have Evra on their radar

"Manchester United left back Patrice Evra is a summer transfer target for Juventus according to reports in the News of the World.

United have been making the news off the field this week after they confirmed they have agreed new long terms deals with Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and Wes Brown. However, it appears that talks with Evra, whose contract expires at the end of next season, haven’t been quite as constructive.

Representatives from the Italian club were reportedly at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome to watch Evra in the first leg of United’s Champions League quarter-final first leg which they won 1-0.

Evra, a French international, has been a consistent part of the United first team since signing for the Red Devils in 2006 from Monaco. Indeed his performances at left back where he is almost as effective going forwards as defensively have ensured he has become a key part of the United side who would be reluctant to let him leave.

However, it is thought that Evra’s wage demands may be behind the defender’s decision not to sign a new contract already. Evra is likely to be well aware of the new deals his colleagues have signed this week and as such is unlikely to back down in his demands, and it is thought that this could lead to Juventus enticing him away from Old Trafford if they can find an agreeable financial package.

Meanwhile, United have reportedly slapped a price tag of £10 million on Evra in the hope of warding off any potential suitors. "
