lack of broadcasting, under funding in the womens game etc etc.

Ever since the game begun. The women's side doesn't get taken seriously and it's just as good as the mens. I think the big wigs are too afraid to show the women in case they get a big viewing figure. As for funding , not enough is put in simple as that. There's more at grass roots level than there was but once again no-one really bothers with the women's game.

What was you ranting at ?

rant was about everything you just mentioned, lack of broadcasting, funding, and the game not being taken seriously.

The game is just as important as the mens game and if they got more views it would just add to the game, encourage fat kids to get off the couch! I was going to coach an under 16 girls team this year until I finally decided on coaching my own 17s team. Next year I will coach girls though, they're not getting good enough coaches in Australia but our clubs are trying to do their best.

Could we see you in a future World Cup or Olympics as the Aussie coach then Wink

Obesity is really rising here , if sports aren't really on tv for the kids to see they ain't gonna want to do it.

I could coach anywhere Smile

I'd be playing for the Socceroos or Liverpool in England and then the next day jetting out to coach the Matilda's in Australia Laughing

If I ever played in Manchester it would be for Manchester City!

(I have taken you slightly off topic again Laughing we're talking about mens football)

So not even important league games are broadcast, like one off?

No , the league games are never shown Sad you may get 2 seconds of footage on sky sports news and that will be it.

Eurosport did show the Uefa Cup final when Arsenal made it , but that was a one off and I doubt this years will by shown.

Thats a shame. I wish it could become popular. But I guess its going to be stuck with die-hard fans and forum people to keep it alive. Hey, has anyone petitioned or approached a broadcasting station or a sponsor about it?

Not that I know of. Although there was some complaints from some of us about Eurosport not showing the Algarve Cup and we got fobbed off with some excuse. I expect the same would happen if we wrote up to the BBC or sky. The games they do show are like gold dust. It's a shame really , the audience figures are out there , it's been proven from the Euro's and the world cup.

I wondered where this section was, seeing how smithy told me that I had being hugging Bluey (via a text).

It was lovely to meet Mr Blue, little Miss Blue, and Mr Crab, although the latter sat at the opposite end of the seats to me, so we couldn't cuddle (not that he'd want to - but I think he was just jealous of me and Mr Blue WinkLaughing)

But - the Crabster had his eye on the goallie, I think Wink

I have commented on decisions made by the ref elsewhere Wink
