Chelsea will be the last place Villa will end up. He's already come out stating he wants to come to Arsenal; but if Arsenal don't bite, he's stated he'd like to line up next to Torres at Liverpool. I couldn't see both Arsenal and Liverpool passing up on Villa to allow him to go to Chelsea.

wenger has already said that he is not in the transfer market for villa so personally i cant see him at Arsenal next year here will be at Liverpool or Chelsea if anythink. i have to say that wenger is a bit stupid not to want him but you never no what going on in wenger mind he always got something lined up.

There is no guarentee they will down btw but either way a lot of players are going to leave.

Up for grabs.

Canizares, Sunny, Maduro, Albiol, Marchena, Villa, Baraja, Albeda, Morientes, Hildebrand, Banega, Fernandes, Del Horno, Vincente, Joaquin, Zigic, Alexis, Silva, Edu, Miguel.

Everyone of those players could fit into a top team in Europe so real, real quality avaliable.

At Man Utd I'd be interested in Hildebrand, Villa and Silva.

Hopefully Bilbao (awesome result btw!!!) will pick up Del Horno permanantly.

Well, why would Wenger want to buy a £20x striker when he already has 3 very good strikers, and 3 very good young strikers with lots of potential?

He's in the market to strengthen the areas that need strengthening.

I'm praying Liverpool sign David Silva.

The 3 i'd most want:

Silva - probably the best left midfielder in the world that's on the market. Also, very young with the potential to world class.

Miguel - One of the ebst right backs in the world. Finnan is getting on a bit, and Miguel would be fantastic to take over.

Villa - One of the hottest strikers on the market in world football.

Miguel's actual defending is questionable and Benitez likes defenders who can defend usually. Also isn't Villa a bit similar to Torres? He isn't going to sit on the bench either. Althuogh a 3 man attack of Torres, Villa and Silva, with the later playing out wide is mouthwatering.

Silva is definitely the most likely of the three I'd say.

You may say this but still we need a back up bendnter not good enough for Arsenal i will say, van persie you never no when he is fit and injuried and adebayor is quality but needs a rest and walcott will become quality but still will play on the right next year still and eventually are players for me adebayor and villa got to be the prefear upfront with van persie on bench and eduardo wont be right till the 2010/11 season fully

I doubt Valencia will eventually go down, but they're definitely running a fine line thus far. Whatever happens certain players like Villa would inevitably leave though, which could prompt others to seek elsewhere also.

I wouldn't want Villa at Liverpool. Well, i would - i'd love it, because he's one of the best strikers in the world. I just don't think he'd suit our system; one of he or Torres would have to play on the wing unless we reverted to 4-4-2 (which i don't think works well for us, unless Gerrard's on the right). Anyway, we probably won't have a fortune to spend - not enough to buy star players in positions that aren't a priority.

Of their players i'd love David Silva; at a cut price. We're in need for wide players and we couldn't do much better than to go for the Spaniard. I would prefer him to anyone else available there.

The other player i'd plunge for would be, as Sticky said, Nikola Zigic. Would be an excellent replacement for Crouch assuming he exits in the summer. I would not say no to someone like Albelda or Baraja either to bolster our central midfield position, for a small fee, adding much needed experience to our squad in the process.

Silva, Zigic, Albeda/Baraja.

Zigic is awesome. He is basically Crouch but strong and he can head as opposed to just being tall. He's a little quicker as well I think. Great impact player or for general use alongside Torres for rolling over weaker teams.

What Ben?

You change your mind quite a bit don't you. Last time we spoke about Villa, you said you'd love him at Liverpool, and despite him and Torres not doing well together for Spain, he would be one of the players you'd most like us to sign. But before that, you were in agreement with my originals views.

I was slightly worried about the two together, and with the formation we play. But, if he's going on the cheap, who else can we buy? Well, he won't be cheap cheap, but if DIC come in and Valencia get relegated, it wouldn't be a great deal of money for us.

Admittedly it's hard to agree on Villa, and i probably only put him there because he's so good - not because we need him (assuming we are to play the 4-2-3-1 formation for much of the season).

If that's the case, then i'd want a player that can play as a winger/striker. Someone like Farfan or Arshavin, but that's just me digressing, so i'll shut up now.

I did flirt with the idea of Villa, but eventually admitted he wouldn't fit our system. I suppose it was because he is such a good player that i'd have wanted us to make it work. The partnership with Torres/Villa nationaly doesn't faze me though as neither player plays anywhere near as well for Spain as they do their club... In fact very few players in football do.

Anyway, he wouldn't come cheap. Yes Valencia would be relegated but the interest from various clubs, forcing competition, would ensure he'd still fetch for a hefty price.

I'd love us to start next season with something like this:

------------- Torres

-- Silva ---------------- Gerrard
------------- Modric

Phwoar. Although i couldn't see Gerrard being moved out to the right, but i suppose all three of Silva, Modric and Gerrard could fluctuate in position during the match. I bet for all the speculation we end up getting no-one of note... And it wouldn't be surprising either the way things are going behind the scenes.

Yeah, if Darren Bent went for £16m from Charlton when they got relegated - then Villa could fetch double that.

I'm not overly keen on the team you put out. I'd prefer to keep Gerrard in the middle. From that position he chips in with so many goals. More than many strikers, which is invaluable.

I'd prefer this:

------------Torres

Silva---------------------Farfan (Can play as a striker and as a winger - can provide cover for Torres)
----------- Gerrard

Although i'd settle for Babel in place of Farfan. Or Young, Kranjar, Arshavin etc.

Yeah i know. But about 3 months ago he should've been sacked. I think he won either 0 or 1 game in his first 10, finished bottom of the group in the CL and slipped from near the top of the table to near the bottom.

True. But there is no difference with him playing on the right.

Season-...Pld--.Gls
2003-04--.-47--..-6
2004-05-.--43---13
2005-06-.--53---23
2006-07--.-49---11
2007-08--.-49---22

2005/06 obviously the year he played a hell of a lot on the right-wing. As i've said previously - is it any coincidence that that's the year we came closest in the league? Personally i think he's just as good on the right and perhaps it's easier to find (or at least purchase) a quality and creative attacking midfielder than it is a winger. But as i said, the movement between the trio of Silva, Modric and Gerrard would be such that they'd interchange a hell of a lot anyway. If Alonso could regain some lost form, similar to what we saw tonight in the Champions League, then we'd have an exceptional group of players to attack with.

I doubt Rafa would move Gerrard though. No way. Gerrard's certainly no Carragher and wouldn't really stand for it. Which for me is a bit of a shame. I suppose you could alternatively have:

------------- Torres

- Modric ---------------- Silva
------------ Gerrard

The versatility would be damn good. I know Modric can play on the left as well as centre, Silva practically anywhere - right, left, centre - and Gerrard right and centre.

If they get relegated he won't have much choice.
