Another exciting player for me...I wonder where he'll end up? Could he be on his way to the EPL since negotiations have broken down between him and Bayern?

Thoughts?

Havn't Bayern said they intend to tie him down to a long term deal very soon? Can't see him leaving with Bayern looking to return to the CL level next season

I'd have him at Utd for sure. Liverpool could be a possible target.

I think every team in the prem would want him. Man U, Liverpool and Chelsea could certainly make room for him!

Although unlikely i know id love him to come to Spurs, he could play left back allowing Bale to go into a more attacking position.

Imagine

Hutton Woodgate King Lahm

Now that would be a nice defence if the 2 central players could keep fit.

Philipp Lahm is expecting to sign a new contract at Bayern Munich after opening talks with general manager Uli Hoeness.

The full-back has one season remaining on his current deal at the Allianz Arena, but is keen to stay with the Bundesliga leaders despite being linked with the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United.

A long-term deal is understood to be in the pipeline and Lahm appears confident that an agreement can be quickly reached.

"Negotiations with Uli Hoeness got under way this week and I can very well imagine that we'll reach agreement next week," Lahm told the German daily tz.

No surprise there. I wasn't getting my hopes up, because i knew there was no way in hell he'd be leaving Bayern.

Well this is the article from SkySports website, saying Bayern have withdrawn there offer for a contract extension. I havent seen anything else on the matter.

It's true, Bayern have withdrawn their offer. Lahm said that he wants to play abroad in the future, so he's very likely going to leave after this season or in 2009.

He also said that he wants to win the Champions League soon, and he thinks that Bayern won't be to accomplish that next season (I hope he's wrong).

I think he could help any club, since he's young (24), can play on both sides (he plays left at bayern and the national team but he's slightly better on the right) and he also has great offensive abilities. Just watch his beautiful goal at the WC2006

From what I've heard Barca seams to be interested.

I reckon Liverpool would be a good club for him, Aurelio is the one playing Leftback for them and i dont think hes good enough defensively and i think Lahm would fit in well there.

mmmmm i would love to see him at Arsenal but the team we have there no really point with clichy and sagna young and quality and with a player like this there no good for him to be sitting on the bench or either of clichy and sagna because of there experience both this season played quality only if he was a center back Sad

I'd love him at Liverpool if there is a chance of signing him.

First thoughts with Lahm surround the amount he'd cost: for a full-back, a lot. But then again, he's down to his final year so it'd have to be a cut-price deal. I'd love him at Liverpool but then i think nearly every club would love to have him... Can't see it happening.

Besides which, all the very top clubs will be in for him which will make it incredibly tough for us.

Isn't he a left back or winger?
If so Arsenal don't need him unless he wants to be on the bench for the entire season as Clichy is the best in the Prem right now.Lahm was impressive in the world cup ,haven't seen him do much since then thouggh to be honest.

Haha, Clichy best left-back in the prem...lol

Nowhere near. Evra is twice as good. Lahm is better as well.

While I certainly agree that Evra is better than Clichy, its not like you are saying(Twice good)...

Clichy comes a close second to Evra as of now IMO...

Bayern Manager Uli Hoeneß has now told the German magazine "kicker" that Manchester United might be Lahm's new club. However, Hoeneß believes that he won't leave after this season.

Hopefully it will be Barcelona, to firstly not strengthen United and secondly because i want us to sign Abidal.

Still that Barça sign Lahm won't sell Abidal.
