Don't expect him to win it really. But he is the only manager out of the top 4 that have at least won something so far....... I believe Fergie will ultimately get it by winning the league. |

i would have said Ramos if we had got to the Uefa Cup final and won it but alas it was not to be ....

Martin O'neill or Harry Redknapp would be my choice

All but the first one. We played Boro in the first round we were in and beat them 2-0, the second round we were in was against blackpool and it was Ramos' first game in charge and again we won 2-0. So Ramos was in charge for almost the whole competition. I agree though he doesnt deserve manager of the year no where near. If we had gotten further in the Uefa Cup and finished 8th or 9th then he could be mentioned but he still wouldnt deserve it. Harry Redknapp for me, delivers an FA Cup final maybe the Fa Cup itself, Still could get 5th place in the league. We have finished 5th for the past 2 years but we didnt get to a final, Pompey could do both so i think Harry deserves it this year. Of course Fergie will probably get it, they have been very good but he did spend a hell of alot of cash, i think Harry has done better with what hes got. |

I don't think Ramos did that well aside from the Carling Cup. When he took over there were still plenty games left and they continued to lose agaisnt teams they are a lot better than. He's done okay and the real test will be next year after he's sorted the team but he by no means has been a huge success.

he wouldn't get it for that.He would get for doing what everyone here and in the press thought would be impossible.1) they thought Arsenal were about two years away from doing as well as they did.2) Arsenal were supposed to be too physically intimidated by the more physical teams to be a factor. Arsenal's only downfall was their lack of numbers ,in which case you can blame the manager if he had funds or the board if he didn't.I tend to think Wenger had the money but miscalculated injuries and the such. For the reason i stated Wenger deserves credit and blame ,but the good outweighs the bad 10 to 1. That taken into consideration i would still give the award to Harry. |

Hahaha, sounds like Fergie had a mare today.
My pick - Avram Grant If Fergie can get nominated, then why not Grant. Surely he has done a better job this season. Reached a league cup final, currently joint on points with Man U at the top of the table (after beating them today) and in a better position to progress in the CL. All of this after taking over a Chelsea team that were in a mess - players crying about Mourinho departure, players threatening to leave, players and fans criticising the manager, and constantly putting added pressure on him. He's had to work in the most difficult of situation, but still has achieved everything Fergie has this season. Anyone disagree with that? |

Id say Ferguson or Grant depending on who wins the title and cl |

Hardly funny Jono, it's not like i have to watch every game, especially when they involve teams i don't follow.
Anyway, I'd probably still give to Redknapp or Wenger, but it'll have to wait until the end of the season. I just wanted tp point out how Grant has done everything Fergie has so far, and more. |

Even if Man U win the Champs League or League or both? |

Erm, well you can't make those decisions before they have happened. They could win the league on goal difference, and get really lucky in the CL. Or they could be immense and win all the remaining games of the season in spectacular fashion. Or, the manager could make several big errors, but get dug out of a whole by the brilliance of one or two players. You have to assess those sort of things, and not just the final outcome.
Also, we'll have to see how Portsmouth finish the season. |

1. Wenger
2. Redknapp 3. Grant Wenger got the team he wants and producing good football. Did well to "almost" win the league. Redknapp done great in getting to the cup final with a serious push for Champions League. Like Wenger, he has put together an excellent team. Grant done well in absence of Mourinho, especially with some fans on his back. Still possible for title and Champions League. |

If a manager does the double CL PL he will deserve it.
At all the moment Grant has done well considering all the criticism he is getting but I am not sure how big is his influence on his team besides team selection and trainig sessions, I mean he is more of a conductor than a leader of the troups |

Sounds like some people would still give it to Arsene Wenger, clueless. |

So half the forum is clueless?
Wenger overachieved for the majority of the season, and nearly did what was thought to be impossible. Yes, it was only NEARLY, but still, that's a greater achievement than doing what is expected - which is the case with Fergie at Man U. It's all about what's relative to the team a manager has - not the trophy at the end. To take that to an extreme - if Derby finished 2nd in the league, they wouldn't have a trophy to show for it, but they would have overachieved HUGELY, which would be a far greater achievement than Man U doing what's expected and filling the trophy cabinet at the end of the season. |

If they would give it to Wenger if SAF does the double then yes, very much so! |

You don't need to win something to be the manager of the season.
Look at Paul Ince last season. It's just typical glory media hype that often overshadows what an amazing job managers of the smallers teams have done. Harry Redknapp has suffered from this for most of his career, and as a result doesn't get the credit he deserves - he should be rated up there with the best. Only now he's on the brink of winning a trophy people acknowledge how good a job he has done, and nominate him for manager of the season. It's not his best season, he has achieved things in the face of far greater adversity, but who wants to read about that over a semi final win at Old Trafford in the FA cup? |
