Takes - the - p*ss.

If you guys keep Berbatov (which a signing like this could be a big step in doing) then your side is starting to look mighty good for next season. Add a 'keeper and a centre-back, perhaps another midfielder of some sort also into the mix and you'll easily be favourites to break into the top 4.

Quality signing for yourselves; i just hope we make similar moves to keep up.

How are you looking now then?

---------------Berbatov--------Keane--------------

---Modric---Huddlestone-----Jenas----Lennon---

----Bale-----Woodgate--------King-----Hutton---

------------------------Robbo-----------------------

The competition should be excellent next year. I am a little surprised he hasn't held out for a bigger club mind.

or

Bale Jenas Zokora Modric Lennon

Not much point in predicting it now tho as I dont think this will be the last of our midfield signings this offseason.

I wake up turn on skysportsnews 5 minutes ago and there was no breaking new or anything so i left it on whilst messing aroun don my phone and i hear Spurs have agreed a fee for Modric and i wasnt even paying attention it took like a minutre before i realised what they said, so i ran round my house cheering. Brilliant.

Now all we have to do is hope he gets a work permit which shouldnt be a problem.

Does anyone know when he will undergo his medical?

Also will we be able to afford other players now without the sale of a key player?

Hes a regular for Croatia, shouldnt be a problem.

Cracking signing tho, nice to get it done early and before the Euros. I think after the Euros he would have been unatainable for us.

Looks like ive got a team to support there now Smile

I think this will prove to be a brilliant signing for Spurs, and I can't believe one of the top four haven't snapped him up before this to be honest, i rate him very highly from what i have seen of him. Made the England Midfield look like Schoolboys in the defeat to Croatia at Wembley, good technique good passing range and despite his appearance he did out muscle them once or twice both on and off the floor. Some may question his physical presence, but this is one player who i don't see a problem with in that regard.

Definitely, we are not short of funds. THe business side of Spurs is very well run and of theres one thing ENIC does right it is allowing for investment in playing squad.

But in saying that, I think Berbs is offski anywat.

He speaks:

Tottenham's new signing Luka Modric has expressed his delight at the prospect of playing Premier League football next season.

The White Hart Lane outfit have agreed a fee believed to be in excess of £15million with Dinamo Zagreb for the 22-year-old Croatia international.

Modric has been interesting the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and, most recently, Newcastle, although he believes Juande Ramos' side are a big club.

With three English teams in the semi-finals of this season's UEFA Champions League, Modric believes the quality of football in England speaks for itself.

"I'm happy to be joining such a big club," Modric said at a press conference in Zagreb.

"It will be a real pleasure to play in the English league which is the best in Europe, with three English clubs in the semi-finals of the Champions League."

Despite losing one of their brightest players, Dinamo sporting director Zoran Mamic was happy with the deal brokered with Spurs.

"Tottenham's president came to Zagreb," said Mamic. "We signed the agreement and everything is in order.

"We're very happy. Luka is leaving for an environment where he's going to progress, while Dinamo showed that we know how to do good deals."

Wow, what a signing. Spurs finally have a centre midfielder of the big 4 standard to rival or better that of the big 4.

The Bigs club took to long, if he had waited till after euro 2008 im sure a bigger club would of been intrested and brought him to their club. Or maybe he just wants to play on a regular basis, which he may not of had the chance to if he had signed for the teams peopel expected him to sign for.

I was so shocked this morning, i had no idea we were even considering him and then to of tied up a deal so quickly its awesome.
