In fact let's just have a comparative argument. I think Babel is better than Tevez. Sure he has scored less goals but he gives us width and they are different players so....

So.......I accept you are entitled to your own opinion. Like MOST opinions on this forum they are biased in favour of the team that the writer supports. If you are happy with Babel, that's fine by me......I hope Rafa keeps him along with the other numerous average squad players that Liverpool have. They will then never progress from their current predicament in the Prem. If you are going to make comparisons then I suggest you start by choosing one of your better squad player if you want comparison with the MIGHTY Manchester United squad......otherwise you are wasting my time.

There's no need to have childish bias 100% of the time. It is painstakingly obvious that Man Utd have a stronger squad than Liverpool.

Saha walked into United's first team but Torres wouldn't...

yeah I'm bias.

Tevez has been a good squad player. Torres would be first choice at United and that is why they were willing to spend 20 plus mill on him. Oh no wait, teams often go after 20 mill plus players to put on their bench.

Torres would be first choice for Man Utd I never denied that.

Man Utd actually do spend £20m for bench players. Nani, Hargreaves, Anderson, Tevez, Carrick. None of 100% starters

Shock of the century: Ronaldo is PFA player of the year. Fabregas wins young player.

I would have given them both to Ronaldo - Fabregas's influence faded towards the end of the season.

maybe they thought at only 20yrs of age Fabregas was more worthy of it and that he contributes more all round than Ronaldo . It must have been pretty close though ....

Torres too, but hardly a young player, even though he is.

No complaints for either.

It's a joke. Fabregas was sh*t in the second half of the season.

Torres and Ronaldo were more worthy of it. And i think if Kranjar or Ashley Young were playing for big teams, and Fabregas wasn't such a big name, they would've been chosen ahead of him.

Does anyone know of any criteria for the Young Player of the Year? Like age?

For me it should be either 21 or 22 and under. Torres ended the season 24, and it makes it really tough for actual young players such as Richards, Fabregas etc. to compete as they're competing with the likes of Ronaldo.

And i also think you're either in one or the other. How can, when Ronaldo and Fabregas were voted for both awards, Ronaldo be a better player but a worse young player? It doesn't really make sense. There should be a cut off.

And of course it shouldn't be voted for in bloody January.

I agree with that to an extent . When i heard that he won i thought what,he fell right off the second half of the season. But when you look at his age and his contribution to the team in terms of goals and even when he's not scoring in some games ,it's hard to pick anyone else really.
Richards was nowhere near as good as he was last year. Young just didn't play enough.I think cesc is a tad overrated myself and a bit of a media creation somewhat. I could hardly contain my composure at times when i kept hearing the so called experts say what a game cesc was having.Especially when Hleb and Flamini were absolutely inredible and cesc was almost non existent.

Isn't Ronaldo only 22? It's hardly his fault that he was far better the the aforementioned and deserves the award. Normally, if a young player gets the main award, he'll also get the YPOTY award too unless they felt that it was too hard to pick between the 2 so give one each. Anyway, Ronaldo deserves both
